It's more of a dismissal - if some 16-year-old boy + a ranging party can deal with it, then it's not a real trouble. Robert doesn't care much unless it's got Targaryen or rebellion in its name.

I saw it coming, and it was spell out in the fic, but the lack of belief despite a magic ice sword equal to valerian steel makes me so mad! Continued foreshadowing and stoking of an upcoming “war of the faith”. Ned being a sorcerer. Joffrey interest in the old gods. Even the tourney changes to be northern. Nearly a moon now since we last saw Jon Snow, will be interesting once we see how his war is going. But hella excited for the day Selmy has to eat his words about Jon’s ability. Haha.
