There were a couple dragon lords who survived. One raised an army and went to reclaim Valyria but they all disappeared and a couple others immediately got killed by the royalty in essos. But yeah, for a continent spanning empire with literal flying weapons, you would think they would have dozens and dozens of dragon lords stationed outside of Valyria that would have survived.

Honestly I like Jon but I wish people did more robb stories. I wanna see Ned's actual blood son to have success and stuff. Like good lord ppl I'm so tired of the targaryens 😂. Dudes weren't even the best of valyeria they were just the lucky. You'd think there'd be other bigger houses who had holdings in other places like them far from the doom and rebellions. Smh only them surviving had to be a plot

That's the thing the plan was to do this for the realm and the north since the white walkers was the major threat that would crush everything because of cersei's lies causing division in the south. I think the Great other and the walkers should've still been a major issue to help them be able to tolerate this blow to their mental. I'm quite happy Jon had twin sons! Now he just needs a good name to give them and a powerful fief to support the new family! I love that Val is still clinging on to some Free Folk traditions. Will more Free Folk that helped Jon previously come to join his fief? Got to make sure he has good fighting men and mammoth! With giants! And that would help Melisandre's efforts since the Free Folk are untouched by the Andal Faith unlike the Northern lords who have intermarried with southerners over the years. Have you thought of a sigil and house words for Jon's house? I suspect the sigil will involve direwolves and maybe hounds.

Goddamn I love how absolutely broken they are after finding out Cersei's kids are bastards, gotta be mentally taxing on so many levels. How many millions dead and they didn't even support the right cause? Must make it all seem so tragically pointless. Hard to even claim they're bastards for a million different reasons... Glad they decided to just put Tommen on the throne anyways even if it kinda ends up feeling like Cersei wins, a little bit? Good stuff, totally awesome fleshed out story.

I get why Ned still harps on the truth. I think so much of his determination comes from the strength of his convictions. I’m glad we got a reunion at last! And that the boys are there to support Ned and get things organized. Melisandre impresses me yet again with the way she’s managed to convince people the Old Gods getting their own clergy, spearheaded by her, is a good idea. Can’t wait to see the next baby from Ned and Cat! Aegon Blackfyre finally gets to meet his maternal family… I feel so bad for him tbh! But sorry you’re not getting what you wanted kid. Lynesse proved herself as the true Hightower of her generation. I hope Garlan and Rhaella end up together and live happily ever after hahaha

Good chapter. I would have expected more anger from Jon directed at Ned. Jon has fought even longer than Ned (two lifetimes now) and has lost more than this Ned has. He should be even more tired than Ned and yet Ned is talking about truth as if it matters anymore. I would have expected Jon to rage about all the men he's killed and what it was all for if Ned just intends to prolong the war by pushing his (Jon's) claim. Either way I'm excited for the confrontation between Aegon and the Starks. It's almost a shame that Tommen didn't die along the way. It would have been interesting to see the Starks give him the throne just to end the war even knowing that he was illegitimate but in the end that's what they are doing with Tommen so I guess it all works out in the end. Ps. I think Jon in the era of the dance would be an interesting next story based on your writing so I'm for #4.

Great chapter and it was great seeing the war take a toll on Ned. Also yay Robb for staying with Myrcella, although Garlan is Lynesse's nephew not her cousin.
