This chapter was a bait and switch. Grey Ghost makes it's second apparition, then the very next day the Bronze Fury bonded with him.

As per the norm, being Jon is suffering. Also calling it now, Baela gets her dumb-ass kidnapped by the five, Jon gets dragged into it and at the last second Vermithor comes in and…. Voices his discontent over the threats to his new source of amusement.

Yeah, I do understand that he's obscure in their eyes at best. However, a dragon rider of one of the greatest dragons in Westeros that claims to be a Snow of Stark blood? That acts like a true Northman? That's political leverage at least if they can appeal to him a bit. Make him feel like part of the family. If we didn't already know Jon's ship I would predict a marriage offer into the main line to get control of the dragon in Winterfell's hands.

As for the connection to House Stark, you should understand that the name alone means nothing when there are dozen of cadet branches outside Winterfell. Even more so that Jon is a Snow, not a Stark, supposedly one who never saw the Lord of Winterfell or Winterfell. It's canonically comparable to the Arryns that have a wealth of branches, most of them unknown, destitute, turned mercantile, or half-faded in obscurity.

Yeah... Just staying on Dragonstone was tempting fate with a dragon bond. Now, how is Vermithor (secretly the real MC) going to execute the big reveal of his new trophy rider? A dragon PoV could be legendary in all seriousness, although I dare not hope. He also officially outed ties to House Stark through a man who has everything to gain from selling out the info... When that comes out, I hope I do get to see a healthy dose of some much desired Stark action in a fic I feared would be too Targ centric.

Skyfall is perfect especially since Jon himself fell backwards in time LMAO I’m dying at Vermithor seeing how proud he was and thought “you’ll do.” He wants a KING for a rider! And the attitude is about right… I did feel a little bad for Baela in this chapter. She feels frustrated by the limitations of her gender and position. But I’m glad Jon humbled her a bit. She needs to work on that attitude.. I wonder if the silent five will stumble upon a little dragon lady instead of the cannibal or Silverwing and Vermithor. Omg Denys asking so many questions… I fear the Starks WILL hear of Jon Snow somehow. And I suspect there will be MORE questions when Jon’s dragon pops out at the worst time.
