Jason wasn’t controlling his tether. If you recall in the scene in the closet they were mirroring each other (I assume for fun or as a game). It was quick thinking by Jason to employ this again and have his tether walk into the fire.

(Decided to Chance it! Audio be damned!!!) Why do I feel this story ties into Greek Mythology in a way? There's the story of how we were once whole beings with two faces, four arms and four legs but we were split into two halves by Zeus due to our arrogance.... That feels correct when I think of that story and compare it to this movie.... Our halves that made us once whole want their chance in the sun i.e the doppelgangers they are the half of us cut away that once made us whole.... hence the scissors to represent that separation and also being used to symbolically separate themselves again (untethering)... Just a thought and more likely than not a shot in the dark and completely wrong it wouldn't be the first time and certainly won't be the last! lol 😅🤣❤️❤️

The audio comments are getting me nervous 😳 so maybe I should save this one juuuust in case so awaaaay to Dexter I goooo because I fell behind and I'm still on Season 2 🫣 slow and steady wins the race but I'm overwhelming myself trying to keep up with the TV shows because I focus so much on the movie reactions 😅 I need to learn better time management! 🤣🤣

The in picture video syncs fine, but you guys are talking about things way before they happen. The commentary sync is borked.

When the mom mentions to the dad they are filming a movie over by the carousel in the beginning, it’s a reference to the real life movie The Lost Boys which was actually being filmed in Santa Cruz back in 1986.
