Heartstopper: So there’s been equal discourse regarding heartstopper stating that it’s a poor representation of the queer community because a lot of people don’t experience high school in this manner, with having queer groups of people to hang out with, accepting relationships, a for all intents and purposes happy childhood where they get to freely explore themselves and discover themselves with very little negative impact. And there’s the other side that says that it’s a wonderful representation of the queer community, that this is the way it should be represented… as normal, because that’s the way it should be and people need to be able to view it as such in order to emulate it. The show runners, the actors, and the author, Alice have always maintained that the show looks at life with “rose tinted spectacles“. That yes bad things happen, but at the end of the day you know things will always turn out well. What is your take on the show thus far in that respect, do you think showing it this way helps or hinders the queer community?
