Drawing Challenge: March
🕑 Added 2025-03-06 13:00:05 +0000 UTCNew month, new Drawing Club Challenge!!!
If you are a member of the Conté Tier, you might have seen my recent artist study of Austrian Artist Egon Schiele.
I wanted to give you the opportunity to try you hand at some Egon Schiele inspired anatomy and poses - but you don't have to draw it in his style!
You do you!

What is the Draw-Along Challenge?
The Draw-Along Challenge is all about taking a reference photo (provided by me) and tackling a specific theme or technique each month.
Some tips for this reference:
BEAN: Use the bean to capture the twist
BALANCE: Use plumb lines and negative space to careful balance this pose.
SHAPE LANGUAGE: What shape language could you use to emphasise her anatomy?

Just uploaded mine hehe. Did a short version and a long version. I find it hard to loosen up and achieve that spontaneous gestural style. Hope I get better with more practice~ will probably attempt to do it in Egon's style when I get better.

Shape Language is a design concept. For example....the movie Aladdin has curvy shape language (because it is based on the shapes of Arabic.)

Whatever feels right for you and your goals for the pose!

What is "shape language"?

Hi Gillian. Ideally how long time wise should you take to do a drawing / pose ? 3M ? 5M ?
