A question - (YCH stuff?)
🕑 Added 2017-07-30 17:47:24 +0000 UTC There's something I've been thinking about for a while. How would you guys feel if I made the monthly paintings into a YCH auction thing? There's no denying- this is absolutely, 100% double dipping. Nothing but a way to make a little bit more on top of what you guys are super generously already supporting me with. However, it also sounds kind of fun, to me. I could even make it a patron only thing, so the prices would stay lower and give you guys a better chance of getting in.I wouldn't do it every month, with every suggestion, but when I get a winning suggestion that seems like it would fit well into a YCH it might be a fun way to find some characters for the idea.
For example, this month I only got one suggestion, which kind of makes it the winner by default (which is why there is no vote this month)- "How about a new interactive exhibit in the museum of sex ed? A male exhibit is tied down nude, while a female attendant demonstrates how to make him cum and invites visitors to practice on him."
If I made this a YCH auction you could potentially be that male or female, which makes things more interesting for everyone I think, and of course, I stand to make a bit more money, heh. However, this might be seen by you guys as being a bit too greedy, and I don't want to turn anyone away, so please let me know what you think! You'd also have to consider possibilities such as getting the winning picture -idea- for a month, but then not winning the YCH auction afterword if you wanted to be in the picture, and I don't want anyone getting upset at me for something like that. :P
So, whether you're for or against, please let me know what you think!

Oh yeah, wouldn't do it every time. I don't want to force suggestions that fit a YCH, but if the shoe fits I might occasionally have a go at it.

I think not as an every time thing, but sometimes would be cool! Because then we'd see the same characters often

This is definitely a touchy subject when it comes to pleasing both parties (suggester/participants of the auction). Honestly what infuriates me the most with YCH auctions is that you get outbid in SECONDS rendering you excluded unless your savings account is booming. I'm not sure how to handle that (unless there is multiple characters in the proposed idea) so I'll go with what these two above me said.

I'm for an occasional YCH on the winning monthly idea. However, like you said, to ensure no one is upset there might be an additional consideration. Where the winner of the idea, (or maybe all Patreon supporters) get to do a small pre-bid before the piece goes to public auction. EG, 1. Does the winner want the slot? It will cost x. 2. If not, do any Patreon supports want the slot? It will cost y or private auction. 3. If not, open up to everyone in public auction.

You could collect (discounted?) fixed price bids, and then put those characters plus maybe some of your own picks up for a vote. Then the winner of the vote pays for their spot and everyone gets to feel like they're involved in the process? Just an idea off the top of my head. Whatever you go about doing, if it means I get a chance at getting art from you of my characters I'm all for it.
