Another little animation teaser! A WIP screenshot from the upcoming Monthly animation. I went dramatically overboard again, oops. This one might actually end up being just a little late due to having to set it aside to work on the monthly painting, but I'm hoping I can squeeze it in before October ends... we'll see. It's not strictly halloween themed so I won't feel too bad if it's a day or two late.
Mainly I wanted to share because I just love this frame. Not necessarily visually, the portals look a little cheesy, I more love what it says. It says so much, you can pretty much see how the whole thing is going to go from just this one frame I bet. I don't know if it's going to be as amusing to you guys as it is to me without knowledge of how the animation around it goes, but this part just gets me every time. I didn't want to wait until the whole animation was finished to share it!
Stay tuned... animation will hopefully be done before the month is over!

Yeah, they're just 2D surfaces right now, I couldn't think of an easy way to fake the effect of them going into the portal. If I think of anything though I might update 'em!

I actually rather like the portals, they visually work well as kind of "holes in reality", with the rings behind them giving them 3d depth. The only improvement I could see there is the tentacles seem to be coming out of the "surface" of the portal, rather then continuing into it.

Magical accidents always have interesting results. Tentacles are one of the best ones, but spontaneous growth, hypnotism, arousal, etc. are all fun!

mm, friendly tentacles are the best. In my headcanon, the kobold is holding up a sign, roadrunner-style, that says "oh fuck me", followed by a tentacle holding up a sign saying "If you insist."

I haven't animated tentacles very much since we last saw them, they're sort of their own beast entirely so I can't promise I'll do a dramatically better job than before. But I'll give it a shot! :P

Ooooh yes, you know my love for tentacle friends, so I definitely wasn't about to complain when this suggestion took the lead! I very much look forward to seeing how you animate tentacles now, I'm sure you've learned a thing or two :D Also, Ru, they're fantasy portals. They can be anything you want, including cheesy!
