Shocked and in disbelief, Jean's hands clung to his chest as she asked fearfully: "Y-you do?"

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Jean couldn't help but cry silent tears as she wished she could stay in his embrace forever.

Embracing the silently crying Jean, I found myself sighing internally.
I had told the truth as I said I loved her. I hadn't realised it before, but the burning warmth pulsing through my veins every time I thought about her or was around her, couldn't be anything but love.
It was like a small budding flower, not yet fully grown, but already having taken root in my heart.
My sigh was more in regards to the complications my feelings for her would bring with them. Still, I wasn't one to shrink back from a challenge and while this one involved helping her gain control of the cosmic entity within her and removing Xavier's mental barriers from her mind, I was willing to do all that was necessary to ensure her safety and well-being.
Though these things couldn't be rushed and needed time so I just continued to hold her for the moment, while I used my shields to grab the clothes I had dropped before and brought them next to us.
"Let's get you dressed, my love.", I whispered gently before removing my arms from around her and grabbing the floating deep-blue sweater, as Jean herself retracted her arms, though her eyes were still glittering with tears.
Helping her slip into the hoodie, I grabbed the silk panties of the same colour and crouched down before her. Letting her step into the underwear, I pulled the thin piece of fabric up her pale legs and helped her cover the valley between them with it.
This was followed by some black pajama shorts made out of lace and a pair of thick cotton socks, so her feet wouldn't get cold.
Standing up, I placed a soft kiss on her willing lips before grabbing her hand and leading her into the kitchen, where I started to prepare breakfast while Jean started to tell me what had happened on yesterday's mission.
