Yeah, a lot has happened considering the time that has passed. And still, his journey has just begun. Elijah's goal isn't as simple as it sounds after all, so it naturally isn't easy to reach either. Also, Emma knows Elijah pretty well for the time they spent with each other, considering that she is a master at reading people. But she also doesn't really want Elijah to be involved with the Hellfire Club. She knows best what kind of organization it is after all. and her family is too important to her, so she wouldn't want to endanger them by pulling them into the Club if she could help it. The Ancient One is indeed very similar to Elijah, and they will have some very intersesting interactions in the future. Strange will naturally come up during those times.

YES! YES!! YES!!! I feel like a lot has happened in such a short time that several hinges were starting to loosen, but this chapter really helps remind the readers that Elijah is still sticking to his goal regardless. “I did not want to be part of it either”. He’s not the white knight or the devil, he just wants nothing to do with most things and this rule also applies to the people in his inner circle and I’m pretty sure Emma knows it too. If she abuses Elijah even a bit, he’ll probably cut ties with her in a split second without further thought despite everything they both had cultivated so far. His neutrality in many ways is out of necessity to face the bigger picture, not necessarily out of pure indifference. Earth has too many problems already, why bother with the petty ones charged with feelings. Even Thanos and the snap didn’t really matter if Tiamut was an actual threat. He’s becoming eerily WAAAY too similar to the Ancient One. And the more I think about it, the more it feels like he’s more and more uniquely qualified to become the Sorcerer Supreme. The AO isn’t going to interfere and save Iron Man just because his death would become a ‘tragic story’, not when Dormammu is going to Earth’s drive-thru at lunchtime every damn day. Eli serves a greater purpose, and imo, justified claim and RIGHT to become the Sorcerer Supreme more than ANYONE ELSE but Yao. #Elijah for SS 20NOW

Thank you, I like these types of introspections as well! Also, you aren't wrong when you say that Elijah doesn't have much of a plan. His goal for freedom is more of an inner urge. His desire to be free has pretty much consumed every other goal he might have had about his life if he had died under different circumstances. Both his first life's experiences along with his very painful and rather traumatic death had left their mark on him, and it has certainly affected how he sees the world. And yes, he will have to slowly figure out what to actually do with his life or where he actually wants to go when his thoughts aren't preoccupied with gaining power.

Great chapter! I really liked Elijah's introspection, especially since his goal of "I want the freedom to travel the stars unimpeded" seemed to be more of a knee-jerk reaction, without any planning in the beginning. I applaud his goal wholeheartedly, but there didn't seem to be an actual thought put behind it.
