A very small horror-comedy film (that isn't really scary at all) worth watching is Extra Ordinary. Really enjoyable Irish indie film featuring Will Forte about a driving instructor who has to come out of retirement from being an exorcist when Forte's character tries to conduct a dark ritual in a small town. Lovely film.

Maybe the plans forward are already set, but I feel like now that Game of Thrones is coming to an end, and Natmare season is upon is, it would be a good opportunity for a short horror series. I have seen others mention it too, and I think The Haunting of Hill House would be perfect. It's a one season, 10 episodes, limited series with a good story, characters and actors, that gets a proper ending. While it is a horror show and scary at times, it's not super scary, and also not just filled with cheap jump scares (though there are some). More of that creepy and intense buildup. It's also an Netflix original, and is therefore available all over the world on Netflix :)

Wow, people really showing their ass in these comments. Lol All of these selections are great. Gremlins is considered more of a Christmas time film by some, so that might be better in December. Same could be said for Nightmare before Christmas. It’s a great transitional film from Halloween to Christmas. Goonies is a classic, definitely not spooky at all really but I’m glad it’s winning considering it’s a “not seen.” I think it’s a good choice if you don’t want to watch spooky films when you’re by yourself.

I would have to guess that it's largely nostalgia. That being said, Americans do like stories about underdogs winning and the child actors did a solid job, far better than many child actors. One movie I would always recommend to someone looking for some horror to watch, would be Event Horizon. Overlooked and criminally underappreciated, IMO, sci-fi horror flick from the 90s. Also one of the few good movies Paul W.S. Anderson made before he hooked up with Milla Jovovich and started pumping out mediocre Resident Evil movies heh.

I know there’s probably no way this would ever happen but I would enjoy the heck out of a reaction to The Halloween Tree. Based on a book by Ray Bradbury (who also wrote the screenplay) it’s about four kids whose friend is dying and they make a deal with death to chase his soul across time and space and learn about the attitudes toward Halloween and death held by the cultures they come across in the meantime. It won a daytime Emmy.

These are some pretty tame Natmares. ;) Out of the films listed here I would REALLY like to see Nightmare Before Christmas win (not looking good though), as it's golden in regards to the score. Danny Elfman performed his heart out on that soundtrack and I would highly recommend you check it out on your own time as it's a classic and practically a musical, so I think it would be right up your alley. Gremlins is a Christmas movie. I recommend for Halloween you watch "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" if you have never seen it. Gremlins is a Christmas movie, meant to be watched sitting next a nice warm fire in the fireplace, munching on microwaved popcorn, while snow is lightly falling and carolers wander the neighborhood spreading cheer and good feelings.

That’s fair! But i would argue both is true. It’s both overrated and drowned in unearned nostalgia. There’s like a four year period of birthdate of people who enjoy that movie and they all needed to be under 8 when they saw it for the first time

I don't think it's that it is rated particularly high. It's more that people confuse getting that warm nostalgic feeling with objectively thinking something is good.
