The song Daemon sings to the dragon (Vermathor, the dragon of the old king Jaeharyrs) is basically him asking for its help - probably letting it know someone else wishes to ride it (probably Baela) and asking its permission.

She's had him pegged wrong the entire show. Daemon doesn't care about power. Not in the way everyone else does. If it was power handed to him by Viserys or Rhaenyra it's different because it would be because they need him. Daemon wants to be needed and trusted. In truth, I'd be willing to bet he actually would have made a decent Hand of the King. He's unpredictable and reckless of course, but part of that is because he just wanted Viserys' attention. It would have probably been a different story for everyone involved had Daemon at least been given the chance. I would have at least gone to him after Lyonel's death instead of getting Otto back. A lot of this mess probably could have been avoided if Viserys actually tried harder with everyone involved instead of trying to please everyone. That poor kind man was doomed to fail from the start.

Yeah, I think the original show failed to give some keener insights into situations like that. But yeah no, Drogon is the only one she’s really bonded to. It’s also why Viserys never bonded with another dragon after being the last person to bond with Balerion the Black Dread

Oh thats interesting i always assumed with dany she was bonded to all 3 of hers and thought damon was trying to do something along those lines

NO FUTURE SPOILERS - So Dragonriders can only ever bond with one dragon for their entire life whilst dragons can obviously have numerous bonds but only one at a time so Daemon going to Vermithor at the end wasn’t necessarily him bonding, simply him sewing the… *ahem* seeds :)… for what will be going on in the next season or two! Season 1 was all set up for what the actual story is by the way. Aemond actually has a sapphire in his eye which is badass.

It's kind of sad how Alicent is forced to deal with Aegon and Larys and Criston's lack of self control all the time. Kind of plays into her talk with Rhaenys who basically belittles her for lacking the imagination to allow a woman to be Queen.

Rhaenyra actually did have a dragon baby. It is oft that a Targaryen will have a stillborn baby born with scales and a tail, which is probably due to the blood sorcery that happened in Valyria of old that allowed many families to become dragon riders.

Now the wait for almost 2 years. Even though i know what’s coming. It’s still so hard to wait and finally see the things I’ve read about that are gonna happen in season 2. Prepare for alot of bloodshed. I think more then any season in GoT. It gets soo brutal from now on

I think you have Daemon pegged wrong. When he was looking at that crown, I believe, he was thinking of his brother. He never really wanted the crown, he wanted his brother's approval. Holding that crown was a moment for him to ponder his brother now passed.

Otto poisoned Alicent and she in turn poisoned her children. Otto put all of this into action because he is convinced Rhaenyra will kill Alicent's children because that is what he would do. He is projecting. Alicent raised her children in an environment to despise Rhaenyra's children. If she had been less consumed by appearing righteous, ignored her father, and was the bigger person none of this would have happened.

Rheynera makes GREAT choices for the realm, the only choices that are kind of bad of hers, are the choices she should be ALLOWED to make bad choices one, such as love interests etc. but due to status its elevated to a higher threshold of scrutiny. PROPS to you nat for powering through this one for us, I know you want to get us the 4th season of stranger things while it's rather fresh

He didn't claim Vermithor, more like making sure he is available and open to human interaction. Most likely means to find Vermithor a rider in the future war. As far as we know one person can only be bonded to one dragon at a time

Slight correction, Daemon did not claim Vermithor as he already rides Caraxes and has an incredibly strong bond with him. Daemon was more just checking in on Vermithor and getting him comfortable with human interaction since he has barely had any human contact since Jaehaerys died to prepare him to be claimed by someone else.

In that cave, Daemon claimed Vermithor, whom I think is the second largest tamed dragon, after Vaghar. Is one of the ones he said was unclaimed when he was counting all the dragons. Some also say that upon killing Luke and not obeying, Vaghar was a testing Aemond, to see if he is fit to be her rider, cause she's a dragon thats very experienced in battle and has probably killed a lot, she was showing him like "thats what I was meant to do" .

Daemon sang to Vermithor, to check if he was amenable to accepting a new rider. Vermithor is one of the largest and oldest Targaryen dragons, the mount of the Old King Jaehaerys. Some dragons are 1 and done type creatures. Some like Vhagar have had multiple riders (she is about 180 and has had 4 riders,) Others are completely wild and refuse to accept any rider at all. You can only ever be bonded to 1 dragon at a time. We are gonna meet a Stark in season 2, probably 1 of the most interesting Starks in Westerosi history.

Daemon was singing to one of the unclaimed dragons that I will not spoil because they'll probably explain it in season 2. Also I suggest watching the making of the episodes they explain why the time jumps and other things.

Happy Westeros Wednesday Nat. This was a really cool finale, and I enjoyed your reaction a lot. Building the tension and setting up the next season. I liked how the final scene with Daemon and Rhaenyra was in front of the same fireplace that in their previous scene together, they had been divided, but now they are united in their goal. The music for this episode was just awesome. So epic. Thanks for a really great video today Nat. Looking forward to getting started in Hawkins with you again tomorrow, and this time it's all new, as I haven't seen this season either 🤗

Great episode. Still think ep.8 is my favorite though. You should take a chance to go back and pay closer attention to some of the things Helaena said in a few of the episodes. It has been and will be important going forward. Great reaction as always. Mama bear is pissed, so prepare to go to war..... In 2024.....lol
