A lot of great scenes. I did guess that the guard was no.1 the first time I saw him, figuring he was a lot older, and he had stayed on, but I never guessed the real truth behind him. Wow. Everyone I know who watches Stranger Things knew that the orderly was bad in some way, so I loved Nat just the whole time being like "This guy is so nice for risking his life for her." lol Also, I guess she missed all of the comments I saw people leaving her about the episode lengths.

Near the end during the fight you say that he "shouldn't have taught her" when Eleven starts to win, but he didn't teach her that. He and Kali both taught her to use memories based on sadness and anger, but the reason she wins is because she uses a memory based on love instead.

I always thought those kids on Barney were disturbing, because they seemed brainwashed. Real kids don’t act that way. They were too well-behaved. So I thought something sinister must be going on in Barney Land. Yes- Mister Rogers was like a living saint who actually loved children like Jesus! He was the perfect man- we needed for all time. I’ve seen reaction videos with grown-ass adults crying their eyes out for him. Unfortunately, the Tom Hanks movie got more attention than the documentary about THE REAL MAN. All those rumors about him being an Army Ranger Sniper was a bunch of bull. He wore long sleeves to cover up all his tattoos, braaaaaa! (He was a conservative minister- they dont usually show their bare arms either normally). Barney was like a purple demon in the shape of a dinosaur blob... i be like- get away from my kids, ya weirdo! What were they doing trying to ripoff Sesame Street? That went all downhill when it was nothing but the Elmo Show which was dummbed down and underestimated children’s abilities to LEARN.

The way Netflix released this season was that Ep 7 was a "Volume 1" break and everyone had to wait an entire month in order to watch the Volume 2. The reason was FX team was still working on the visuals up until the day before the they were uploaded to Netflix's servers for the final chapters. Even then there was some stuff unfinished and were updated afterwards. Talk about a Crunch mode. lol

It was great watching and waiting for Nat to catch on the 001 was Vecna, the suspense was amazing and Nat kept saying how she felt sorry for him lol... This has to be one of the best Stranger Things episodes, there was so much going on, it was great!!!

I’m so happy you didn’t catch on to the One/Vecna/Henry reveal until this episode. I was scared in the beginning of this season when you were noticing things I didn’t notice on my first watch and how it seemed to connect to Eleven. I suspected he was One as soon as he mentioned him but was shocked he was also Henry and Vecna. I went back and forth with trusting him lol. Such a crazy triple reveal!!

ahh it's so fun that you don't catch on to vecna till the reveal happened i loved seeing that reaction from you. my favorite part of this episode was seeing how much it connected back to the very beginning of episode one and showed some missing puzzle pieces for us. like the tunnel one shows eleven wasn't used then but it is used later in her escape and i imagine it leads to the drain where the cops later found part of her gown. cant wait for more and the movie tomorrow! but yes buckle in for some looooong episodes

The thing with One's monologue is interesting. You mentioned that "you don't have to do all that" when he's listing the 'rules' of human society - but really, in the context of the 1950's and 60's, you couldn't not do it. If you don't play the game, you're an outcast or a freak and will quickly wind up dead. There was (and to a degree, still is) a lot of societal pressure to keep time, work, reproduce. You don't do that and you have a very bad life ahead of you. I think in a way he's an allegory for homosexual repression. He's "always been different" and freaked like a freak, and is threatened with doctors to "fix him". He's living a lie because society demands it of him, and he finds a release in the spiders. And he breaks, doing what he sees as defending himself. He's certainly not right in his methods, of course - but his mentality is seen with various real world serial killers who grew up in that time period who snapped because of societal pressures (and poor health care and lead poisoning). I also suspect he's the real 'father' of all the kids, based on his age and his words about "creating more". And he takes out his rage on them for being forced from him and not living up to his ideals - and why he takes a special interest in Eleven, the only one he sees as his potential equal. But that's speculation on my part. I just find him very interesting as a character.

It was SO worth it to wait for this one! Jamie Campbell Bower (the actor who plays the orderly) does an amazing job at being so charismatic, yet so almost clearly manipulative. Which is scary considering that is how a lot of serial killers are. Very realistic. Thank you for this reaction, Nat! Can't wait for the next ones.
