Top Gun was originally pitched as Star Wars on Earth so I appreciated they took this approach with the sequel but fun fact my dad flew almost this exact identical mission in Top Gun Maverick in an F4 in Vietnam so if anything Star Wars stole from reality and TGM is showing us how Star Wars got the idea for their finale.

If she has trouble getting a copy of Top Gun Maverick - she can just watch Star Wars 4. It's the EXACT SAME MISSION. Fly down a canyon with people shooting at you - hit a small target - blow up the Death Star/uranium enrichment plant. It even steals the "use the force, Luke" moment and *surprise* Han Solo, I mean Hangman shows up out of nowhere to save Luke in the last seconds. Who could have seen that coming? eh, Steven Spielberg almost 50 years ago.

I have a feeling she may not like it. I have seen quite a lot of people here crap on it and knowing nat, she sees those comments and will watch it with a pre conceived notion to not like it. I hope its not the case.

Braveheart is based on a real person, but about everything in the movie is betraying the real person. Even the year the movie is set in the opening. Not to spoil too much, but we all know that William Wallace died at the end of his life (like all things do). And when that happened Isabella of France was 9 or 10 years old, and 12 years when she got married. And this film claimed to be historical and not fictional.

Its literally not an overrated film by any stretch, when it came out it didnt do the best in the box office but only over time people started to enjoy it more and it holds up visually and cinematically which is where that movie shines.

M&C also has the distinction of being a very accurate depiction of sailing in that era. An historical film that actually sticks mostly to history is always preferable to me to an almost totally fictional "historical' film like Braveheart.

Top Gun Maverick is a complete rip-off of Star Wars: A New Hope. The briefings for both missions are identical. Fly down the canyon, hit the small target and blow up the bad guys. It even has a "use the force Luke" moment. A Xerox copy.

As others have probably said I’d recommend watching all of Craig’s Bond films as they’re a lot more connected than you’d expect. So I’d suggest doing Quantum Of Solace before you get to Skyfall.

Despite how campy the first top gun movie is. I think Nat will appreciate a lot of the film shots and stunts. However so many people have crapped on that movie so much here in this community that Nat will absolutely go into it WANTING to hate it. So im not sure if this will be a good reaction. Before I wanted her to see it but so many people here in this community have done their mission to make sure nat goes into it with a bad taste. I have a feeling its going to be reaction that pisses a lot of people off who been wanting her to see this movie for a couple years now including myself. I even think she wont like Top Gun Maverick as overly critical as she can be to not simply sit back and enjoy a movie.

I was trying to remember what happened in Skyfall and realised I haven’t seen a Bond movie since Quantum. Like it burned me on the whole franchise. Still voted for Speed because it’s a perfect film. I will say Top Gun is important to watch so you understand 95% of the jokes in Hot Shots.

Alright, really solid list all around here. Top Gun is by far the worst actual movie on this list (it's still pretty solid), but it is a gateway to Top Gun Maverick which is excellent, still think I have to vote for Skyfall which is my fav Bond film.

Okay top gun, please win. I think the very fun, campy classic will be good reaction, then that leads into the masterpiece of Top Gun Maverick, where 90% of the movie is done by actual stunt pilots. Top Gun 1 had real stunts too, but all the actors shots were green screened and props. Not the sequal however xD

If you're going to watch Craig's Bond movies, go back to Lazenby's 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' for some very significant context before you get to 'No Time to Die'.

Oh come on, they're all fun but Braveheart is a freaking epic with one of the best scores ever written for film, and a boat load of well deserved Oscars. Nat will be totally blown away by it; it's literally one of the best movies ever made, and she's loved other historical epics she's seen. Do what's best for your reaction...er? Reactionmaker? Reaction producer? Anyway. Think about what's best for Nat, and vote responsibly. :-D EDIT: Wait, I got it! Reactioneer! You're a professional Reactioneer, Natalie! And if your audience won't do the right thing, please pull Braveheart out of the polls and watch it for yourself, whether or not you do a reaction for it. It's a grand sweeping historical epic with music you will never forget, and I'm serious, it's widely regarded as one of the best film scores ever. Many consider it to be composer James Horner's best work, except then he went on to do the incredible score for Titanic just a few years later. Don't let the constraints of a poll cause you to miss out on one of the greats. At least plan to watch it at some point.
