And it sounds like you’re one of those intellectually limited people who are only capable of binary thinking. I’m not a right winger and I am DEFINITELY not a Trump supporter. And yes, it’s been abundantly obvious since season 1 what “The Boys” was alluding to and what their agenda was. But none of that mattered because the writing and storytelling was incredible. Fast forward to season 4, and the writing is some of the worst and laziest I’ve ever seen on television.

I dunno I feel like the latest season of The Boys is... not bad but also not as good as the others? So far anyway. It's the usual shenanigans which I've come to expect and the shock value is not so crazy to me anymore (maybe I'm desensitised) but I've felt a little underwhelmed. Whereas the first two episodes of HOTD have blown me away and I feel so excited for the remaining episodes. I hope we get HOTD first 🤞🏼

I'd prefer both but I voted for House of the Dragon. HotD is only two episodes into its seasons whereas The Boys S4 is 4 episodes in; admittedly it's premature to judge but I've been enjoying the Dragon more because it's consistently good, whereas The Boys has lost focus juggling too many characters' tedious storylines. Worse, comic fans already know where The Boys is going in its fifth and final season, which will be incredible; but in the meantime, it's kinda spinning its wheels in Season 4. It occurs to me that when Cassie returns to making new reaction videos, The Boys S4 will be done, whereas HotD will run for another month. I suppose it makes more sense for her to watch The Boys S4 first. Regardless, I still voted for House of the Dragon S2.

Lots of love and hate out there for both of these shows - either of which are fine - not great, but fine. There's some awesome suggestions in this thread that get consideration in the future like For All Mankind, X-Men 97 (you dont have to have watched the original animated series) and if I can add another modern reboot/retelling - Star Trek Strange New Worlds. I get the feeling that star trek is a big enough property that it's daunting to start, but it's really a wonderfully compelling show that intentionally makes itself accessible to people who have never seen a single episode or movie.

I have a couple of suggestions for series... 1.) Deathnote (Netflix): Although it's anime, it's not a fighting anime, it's a dark psychological thriller/criminal drama with supernatural elements. Widely considered to be one of the greatest non-traditional anime of all time. Sherlock Holmes vs Moriarty with Superpowers. 37 episodes at 30 minutes each. 2.) 3 Body Problem (Netflix): High Concept dark sci-fi political thriller. It's based upon the hugely popular and award winning book series Remembrance of Earth's Past and the Netflix adaptation was developed by the same guys behind Game of Thrones. Mind blowing plot with amazing graphics. 8 episodes at roughly one hour each. 3.) One Piece - Live Action (Netflix): Fun, energetic swashbuckling pirate adventure with a LOT OF EMOTION AND HEART. You will cry multiple times, guaranteed. Based upon the legendary One Piece anime that is still currently on air, but you don't need to know a single thing about this anime to enjoy this adaptation. Considered one of the best anime adaptations of all time. 8 episodes at roughly one hour each.
