Ready or Not is generally considered part of the Horror genre. Horror/ Comedy, Horror/Mystery/thriller. If you just google about the movie you will see. So it's not odd to be included on Horror Movie Poll.

One of my other favorite reaction channels (CineBinge) just did Poltergeist recently, it was a really solid reaction. I hadn't watched the movie in years and forgot how much I enjoy it, and how creepy it really is.

I can respect wanting to watch everything in order and in its entirety. I just don’t feel it’s necessary with this particular trilogy. But that’s just my take. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.

Its more than possible nat watches part 2 down the line as well. Summing up the movie is not the same as watching it.

The only really good horror films in this poll are It Follows and Evil Dead. Had to vote for ED as it's the only one of the two that can win, but Natalie should have just done what V Kunia did last year - call an audible and watch It Follows without a poll.

Right? May as well have started with a quiet place 2 as well. So ridiculous to start with a sequel. Two towers is better than fellowship so why not start there. The first evil dead is what put sam raimi on the map. And its really good. Only people who would say skip part one are people who dont like the evil dead series.

I’m so confused. Movies can be multiple genres. Directors aren’t required to register the genre with the MPAA before a film can be released. Also, Ready or Not is absolutely a horror in both aesthetics and plot. Could you explain why it isn’t in a way that doesn’t also exclude Evil Dead 2 and Happy Death Day?

That definition fits 99% of films, including my comedy example, Saving Private Ryan. Just because an element occurs in a film, it is not the film's genre. Ready or Not is, at best, a slasher film, but more solidly fits into Thriller/Drama. If someone was frightened by this film, they have the thinnest of skins and should prolly avoid 99% of media as almost anything is scarier than Ready or Not.

Horror Movie defined: "A motion picture which entertains by horrifying or frightening the audience." Did you not watch the goat barn scene? Ready or Not qualifies.

But, Ready or Not isn't a horror film. Like, at all. Unless our standards for horror have fallen to "Someone is killed in a story." I mean, Ready or Not is a horror in the same way that Saving Private Ryan was a comedy. Jokes were made and characters laughed, so it's a comedy.

I think I really liked how bonkers 2 was. The laughing scene is one of my favorites of all time. They are both good of course. Not disparaging the first.

I don't really think Quiet Place 2 is worth a watch, but It Follows, The Evil Dead movies (Army of Darkness and the TV show in particular), and Ready or Not is really worth a watch!

I might cut off a limb if it would get Natalie to watch Army of Darkness, but of course it's not horror by any stretch. What it is is perhaps the most brilliantly funny movie I've ever seen, and I suggested it to Nat years ago. This will probably be as close as she ever gets to it, because everybody's going to vote for the original and you can't blame them if their goal is scaring her. *sigh* It's a sad world sometimes. Am I really the only one who loves Army of Darkness? It's freakin' hysterical. Did its humor just go over everybody's head? Or am I too old? Geez, if the majority here can appreciate the original Evil Dead from 1981 they can sure appreciate AoD from 1993.

I’d like to see Natalie’s reactions to all of those movies, but there’s only one spot left for Natmares Season, so we have to choose, hence the poll. Ready or Not and It Follows are great examples of modern horror movies, but I’d rather Natalie watch one of the classics first, which is why I voted for the Evil Dead — and so many others did too.

I voted Evil Dead on the poll, but I’d prefer if Natalie watches Evil Dead 2, Evil Dead (2013), or Evil Dead Rise, rather than the original Evil Dead. I respect the OG Evil Dead but I’d prefer to see Natalie’s REACTION to any of the other 3. Evil Dead 1 & 2 aren’t that long so perhaps Natalie can do a double feature?? 🥺🙏😁

I voted for Evil Dead (hoping you mean the original!) But I would suggest Evil Dead 2 instead. It’s weirder, has some funny moments and is kinda a softish remake/sequel to the first..? It’s hard to explain but I feel it’s the better movie.

Since Ready or Not won't win I think it is perfect for non-Natmare viewing since it has comedic elements, more inline with Tucker and Dale or Cabin in the woods than a true horror movie.
