You should check out castlevania for a next animated series!

If you want more vampire goodness I recommend Interview with the Vampire movie and TV series. And I will recommend it everytime it’s even tangentially relevant to the current video lol
Pless Jones
i saw this with my gf, sister, stepmom and dad
Thomas Richter
I liked the original better.

In ancient folklore, a virgin on a horse cannot pass over the grave of an undead spirit, ie vampire. The level of detail that went into this movie is ridiculous

The lighthouse for me remains Eggers best film.

thats going to be a LONG series to watch if she does do it haha

The way I described it to my friends was that it's a "movie" or "piece of cinema" I could appreciate and even enjoy all the elements of it, from production to acting to story. I think it's all fantastic. Did I like the movie? I dunno. Will I rewatch it? (Yes once with Natalie, but again? No.) Would I recommend the movie? Yes Hard one hahaha
Alvin Everett
Your next show should be Once Upon A Time

LOVED the Van Helsing movie! 🤩 if you don’t remember it much does that mean it’s due for a rewatch 👀 definitely counts as a vampire movie!
Rey
I hope this leads you to checking out the rest of Robert Eggers movies. The VVitch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman are all worth the watch

Homie… a wider audience? Berserk is already huge and while Natalie’s audience is big… it’s still an enormous franchise. Also I’d be super uncomfortable recommending that franchise to literally any woman without severe content warnings before hand.

I've actually not seen the original version of this! After watching this version I'm tempted to go and give it a watch. :)

Honestly, what I'm craving is some Berserk! Yes, I know that's a series but it's only one season (plus more if there's an audience for it). I just LOVE that series so friggin' much and it would make me very happy for that show to have a wider audience. It's good stuff!

Excellent reaction Natalie! While I wasn't a big fan of the movie - I did really enjoy the reaction to it. I also wasn't scared of this movie at all but it was a good watch. I'll go ahead and rewatch it again sometime in the future - I'm sure that I'll enjoy it more then. :))

My favorite scene in the whole movie is just a silent visual when Hoult is at the crossroads and the carriage appears and then he floats to and into the carriage. Just beautifully filmed and shows the power and magic of the Count
Carter Nelson
Fun fact about the "black and white" scenes, they weren't actually B&W. Robert Eggers had a special lens developed that filtered out red and yellow light to better simulate the blues and greys people see under the moonlight, so all the night scenes were filmed with that. If you want a good Dracula movie, the 1931 is a classic, and the 1992 film is the closest to the book (though would need editing for youtube, it has a bit more nudity than this one). I equate this as the Nosferatu version of the 1992 Dracula.

yeah I could go for some Your Name, Summer Wars is getting a 4K remaster in 2 months, The Boy and His Beast, Belle, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust would go SO FUCKING HARD.

Telling the story of 1922 Nosferatu has become my Aragorn moment. glad to see someone else jumped on it.

Maybe some non-ghibli anime in the animated movie poll? Your Name is soo good

lily rose depp deserved an oscar nom imo, she rlly proved herself to the mainstream w this one
Steve Mercier
My new favorite vampire movie! Unleashed female sexuality...oh, no--it's spreading like a plague. Fantastic cast, fantastic script, beautifully shot. And who knew Lily-Rose Depp could act? I didn't know that. Go Miss Depp.
Kevin Farrell
Nat, the Count was shipped by boat to avoid sunlight. Not as easy when you're traveling by horse across the country.
Shaun Bloom
Great film. Saw this in theatres with a friend. Looking forward to it hitting streaming so I can watch-along 🙂

This was probably my most, or one of my most, favorite movies of 2024. I've always loved the original 1922 Nosferatu, and this remake was so good.

Hi Nat, Happy Friday.. Think I'm going to wait for the price to drop on this one before I watch it, still looking forward to it but will just be in a month or two.
Jason Dolan
Can't wait to do this one with you but going to wait for the price to drop from $24.99 to $12.99 but i loved this movie and think it is a LOCK for the Oscar for Best Cinematography and I think Lily-Rose Depp should have been in consideration for Best Supporting Actress

Based on the time on the video before it was blurred, Natalie watched the theatrical cut. 2 hrs 12 minutes. On another note, if you want more from the not-Dracula, Shadow of the Vampire (2000) is an absolute riot, and you would love it.

Happy Feature Friday Nat. A reaction to sink our teeth into 😆 I enjoyed this movie a lot. Saw it twice at the cinema. Really curious to see what you made of it 🧛♂️ The original 1922 version of this movie was made as an alternate version of Dracula but they copied the story beats too closely, so Bram Stoker's wife sued the filmmakers, successfully, and all prints of the movie were ordered to be destroyed. A few survived and over the past 100 years it has been rediscovered and restored to it's original state. "A lot of fluids" 😂 That's one way to sum it up Nat ha ha I saw this in IMAX and it was an experience. The sound design when Orlok walked to the back of the room behind the camera and you heard his voice in the back speakers was amazing. Really enjoyed watching your reaction today. Thanks for all your awesome work this week as always. Have a brilliant weekend Nat 💛
