and i just have to praise them for consistently choosing great voice actors for their characters. Multiple walking dead people, multiple very high profile people. I have been seeing a lot complaints about the animation this season but for every complaint about the animation being lacking remember that "graphics aren't gameplay" and that a compelling story with characters that makes you feel all those gushy human emotions, like Rings of Power for instance. They had great set pieces, and outfits, etc, but their story and actors were subpar resulting in a forgettable experience. I do not think Nat is going to forget the feeling she had when Conquest eviscerated Eve that's a stomach drop followed by a wave of relief that is hard to get right.

Right?! It's the best. I wasn't sure about this series when it came out (I never read the comic). But 3 seasons later, it's fantastic! I really hope we can get Legends of Vox Machina to win a poll, I think Nat would really like it.

A couple of neat things about this episode you may not know or noticed, the dead bodies DA Sinclair was turning into Cyborgs were the Variant Marks that were killed during the 'invincible war'. Conquest was voice acted by Jeffery Dean Morgan, the same voice actor for Negan of the Walking Dead (Written by the same author) where J.D.M. smashes Steven Yuen's head in (Invincibles voice actor) and they reverse the roles and have Steven smash in JDM's head in this, and then at the end when Mark blushes at Eve undressing, it's a reference to the comic books where Eve gave herself a 'size upgrade' when she rebuilt her body from getting hurt by Conquest

So glad you (mostly) enjoyed the series, Nat. After 3 seasons now, it has become apparent that the middle sections (eps 5-6, usually) tend to include a few world-building episodes that are high on the lore and info-dumping side, but lower on the action or story-moving side. This did happen in the comics, too. Some issues were way less interesting than others, so it tracks that it’d translate to the screen. I have to say, while I’m very happy with how Daredevil has been going so far (I had forgotten almost all of this storyline, it’s been a blast to rewatch) I am very intrigued to see what you think of Severance season 1, which I hope is starting next week? ;)

You’re my favorite reactor for the show Natalie, which is why it’s so confusing that you still don’t seem to fully understand the show. The viltrumite invasion is just a small part of the universe, yeah it’s the most “compelling” part of the story, but Invincible’s life doesn’t just revolve around his viltrumite heritage, he’s a hero, he sometimes goes on random adventures that are just another day in the life. Don’t have high expectations for the side characters, they’re just meant to flesh out the world.

“Not the dog!” Literally as a child dies. Also why so surprised about Eve’s, lets say godform, you saw that in the atom eve special. Also remember the b stories build marks character and experience so he can better deal with the main problem.

I loved this season, but I agree with your critiques on certain aspects. I don’t always feel super invested in the side stories. The hook for me with this story is always Mark’s progression and how the challenges he faces shape him as a person/hero. Also on the Nolan and Allen front, based on where we are in the story, they should play a major role next season!

Lilo and Stitch would be good pick to chase the algorithm either now or close to the release of the remake. Don’t know if you’ve seen it but it’s a modern classic

The Conquest vs. Mark fight reminds me a bit like that scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Except the black knight wins. There was this quote, and I don't have it verbatim, but it was from a Punisher comic book. It basically said, a lot of times when it's 1 v 1, it doesn't matter who is bigger, stronger, faster .... it depends on how far 1 person will go to win. Conquest definitely pushed Mark to that point. I was also waiting for this episode to remind Nat that sometimes it's OK for characters to not be 100% dead. I.E. Rex and Eve. And finally - Nolan and Allen are off in space setting up the next, bigger, A-plot! Stay tuned! Because if they gave you everything you wanted in 1 season, well - then there wouldn't be a series!

You've watched Eve in her Super Saiyan mode before, in the Atom Eve Special. They explained her powers in that. Also, apparently the Darkblood post-credit scene is a comic book storyline that the writers never got around to doing. So nobody knows where that might lead actually haha.

It's going to be a crazy week. This was one epic battle, but I think it wasn't as emotional for me, as they had set the precedent throughout the series that even when people died they would come back. I just had it in my mind that Eve would return. Even the superbaddie will be back haha In spite of that it was still an enjoyable watch with you, and I'll definitely be back for the next season 😊

This episode was crazy. Solid season. Ive said it before but ill say it again, after daredevil season 3, kingpin appears in hawkeye, the five episode miniseries echo leads out of that and into born again. Worth a watch. Not 100% necessary but bridges fisks story between hawkeye and born again and its only 5 episodes.
