I feel like there's too much presumption of "Fireflies is just to destroy Nat" when I genuinely think that it maximally fits her pattern of preference for the grounded and intimate. If the only thing that kept her from giving Schindler's a 40/40 was her feeling that it was overwrought, I suspect something as meditative as GotF might go all the way for her.

I'd love to see Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind make another appearance on these polls! It's an earlier work of his, a bit dense, but very epic and underrated among Miyazaki works

Shell never do a 94 episode patreon exclusive. She makes her money from youtube. Nats literally not done second seasons of a show cause the first didnt perform on youtube ie euphoria. This is her business. She’s said many times she wont do anime shows.

I could go with either Totoro or Kiki, they're about on par for me. I see recommendations for Your Name and i agree. When people ask me about my favourite movie i say Your Name. Very different from Ghibli, but a true masterpiece in its own right.

I love both Your Name and Suzume. Weathering with you was good but those two really stick out to me and are an experience.

I’ll never in good conscience recommend Grave of the Fireflies. It’s a fantastic and beautiful film but I’ll never recommend and probably will never watch it again

Man, these are all very good selections. If I had to pick just one, I suppose I'd say Totoro, because I think that's the most culturally accessible. Also as others have pointed out, venturing outside of Ghibli could be fun, too, as Your Name is excellent and I've heard great things about A Silent Voice. Also hats off to the folks restraining from picking Grave of the Fireflies because Jesus H. Christmas, I don’t think Nat would forgive us…

While I'm glad we're getting to see Ghibli movies, I have also seen suggestions to A Silent Voice and Your Name in the comments, and I can only say I concur, so I hope to see them in a future poll!

All great choices but I feel that Castle in the Sky doesn’t get enough love. I like the dub but curious about the sub. Also Kiki has a special place in my heart and to be honest, I feel is relevant for reactors because of the burn out aspects that can come with that (not to give too much away)

Actually the other way 😬😬😅😅they introduced me to Ghibli with Princess Mononoke, then we watched Spirited, and we just saw Totoro. We are all going on this journey together ☺️☺️. They also begged me for the longest time to watch Attack on Titan. Now THAT one was a life changing series!
