The Kingdoms & Warfare PDF releases TODAY!

It’s James Introcaso back with huge news. We are beyond thrilled to announce that the Kingdoms & Warfare PDF is now available on the MCDM Shop and emails with download links are being sent out in waves to our Kickstarter backers and those who preordered!
Kingdoms & Warfare is a 320-page fifth edition supplement that allows players to build and run an organization while adventuring. Player domains take on villainous realms in shadowy intrigues and build armies to battle tides of enemies. Lead a thieves’ guild, holy church, noble court, or other organization to victory against a hag coven, undead dominion, or draconic empire (or... gnomes riding squirrels?)!
Characters are still adventurers, but the stakes are higher. That dragon doesn’t just threaten you. It endangers your people. Dive into the new rules in this full-color book that includes new action-oriented monsters, magic items (including epic codices), and a complete adventure that teaches you how to use domain intrigue and warfare.
You’re not just responsible for your party anymore.
A hardcover version of Kingdoms & Warfare is coming, but right now shipping and printing are a mess because of the pandemic. The MCDM team is working super hard to get the books out, and will be sharing additional information through Kickstarter Updates. In the meantime, please check out the preview pages on the shop (and as a reminder, if you pick up the Kingdoms & Warfare hardcover, it includes the PDF which you'll be able to download and enjoy immediately)!
We couldn’t have done this without an enormous team that includes the entire MCDM staff, freelancers, and volunteer playtesters. Everyone put in an enormous effort to bring this PDF to you. You can find their names in the credits of the book and there's a whole list of folks to follow on Twitter.
If you like ARCADIA, you’re really going to love Kingdoms & Warfare. It has so much usable content you can drop into your game! It bursts with new ideas from a lot of amazing writers and levels up your game, turning characters from adventurers into leaders.

We don't know yet. MCDM originally had a printer in Canada lined up, but then the "global shipping apocalypse" (massive international disruption to shipping from COVID and the Suez Canal blockage) mean that they needed to find a new printer. And many printers can't even get enough paper at the moment. MCDM is working hard on getting it sorted out, and as soon as they're confident about the plan going forward, they'll announce it.

Omg, thank you SO much for the video! I was so freaking excited when I saw the book released and I told everyone I know and I could just not convey to my D&D players what about it made it so great. I showed them the video and they were totally on board! We're all anticipating part 2 So glad I supported the book, it exceeded my expectations ^^

I love the book, and the rules I've read so far are fantastic. I'm almost at the end of the Warefare chapter, and I feel like I got less Battle Magic than I was expecting, or it takes a different form. I also don't understand where we're supposed to get the wands/scrolls, or is the prompt that we insert these into the campaign ourselves?

Yeah, the content itself looks great. 'Intrigue & Warfare' probably would have been a more fitting name for it though, it definitely doesn't deliver on 'Kingdoms'.

I wanted to ask when S&F are gonna be on pre-order? I would like to order both of these at the same time to save on shipping ?
He’s been pretty clear what his plan was from live streams and videos. His goal was to make it abstract as to not loose focus of what dnd is. It’s more improving on the last books concept. Which also did not use resources train troops or collect wood to upgrade troops. So nothing close to Civ 6 for dnd. Still a great book though.

So uh...am I the only one that was expecting more 'Kingdom' in 'Kingdoms & Warfare'? :/ I thought it was going to be a lot of large scale resource and territory management rules(you know, running a Kingdom?). Instead it seems like 'Yo dawg we heard you like to fight so we gave you a way to fight while you fight AND also before you fight'. It looks like it's well put together, just not what I was expecting based on the title.

The dwarven paladin of Hanseath in my game just started construction on his erstablishment. In true dnd fashion, he's building a tavern. Naming it after the kobold he rescued in one of our first adventures during this campaign. I'm excited to see his response when he gets to roll on the retainer table.
