Patreon Packet 3 Surveys are Here!

Since we have a lot of information to gather, we created two surveys. One is for the bestiary. The other is for the rules and character options.
If you ran a game as the Director (or read the material and plan on Directing a game), we recommend you start with the Bestiary survey first. If you only played a hero or only plan to really play heroes in Draw Steel, then the Rules and Character Options survey is the only one you need to worry about.

As a heads up, the surveys are long, however most of the questions are optional (even more than last time). Even if you only want to give us feedback on a few things, we want to know about it. You can skip whole swaths of sections just to tell us you wish the conduit's Healing Grace worked differently. We don't mind! We're grateful for your feedback.

Hey thanks for asking! Because this packet hasn't been through editing, we don't really need this kind of feedback at this time. We've got A LOT of language to sort out for sure. -James

One example of this feedback: Free Strikes (p162) - "A melee weapon free strike is a melee attack made with an unarmed strike or an improvised weapon." This implies that if you use the Charge action, you must make the attack with an unarmed strike or improvised weapon. Feels strange imagining a hero pull out a secondary weapon just because they are running.

I've been reading through the rules and have written about 6,000 characters of feedback in a Google doc, ready to go into the survey once I take it. Would that actually be helpful to you guys? I was careful not to include suggestions or ideas, just a bunch of explanations of odd implications or ambiguities.

Hello, sorry for the reply so late at night (EST here). I noticed that the martial characters have a starting stamina of 21 and gain 12 each level after 1, while the supernatural users have a starting stamina of 18 and gain 9 each level after. However I noticed the Elementalist gains 12 stamina after 1st level like a martial class, but starts at 18 stamina like a supernatural class. I assume it’s supposed to be 9 each level after 1st, or is this a design choice (and if so, I would be very interested to learn why), I only noticed this as I’m decoding all the class designs so that I can have homebrew content ready when Draw Steel is fully released.
