I took adderall everyday for school for like 7 years and it's def not good for you....had to stop taking it....turned me into a zombie & never wanted to eat. my heartrate would always be 180+ bpm all day

Chemically meth is very similar to ADHD medication, or in the case of the "Desoxyn" it is literal Meth. Therefore it illicits some similar properties such as having intense concentration and interest in things sometimes to on obsessive degree. So he probably lured him out with a bit of the paranoia of why he's digging and then kept him there with the obsessive focus. On a side note the whole ADHD meds and their overlap with amphetamines is a little concerning especially with the statistics of misdiagnosis and how increasingly it's prescribed to children but that's a whole other subject.

I believe the scar is a callback to the lobectomy from the end of Season 2, where a lobe of his lung was removed. Wild attention to detail that they'd focus on a makeup detail in a shower 2 seasons later just for consistency. And, I suppose, as a mark to show how he's changed. Vince Gilligan turned his OCD into art.
