Eight 4 Title Reveal, Eight 5 Update
🕑 Added 2024-09-29 17:59:39 +0000 UTCI meant to post an update early last week, but a multi-day trip and conference for my day job derailed me. I'm back home , though, so here we go:
The first draft of Eight's book 4 is complete, and I've already been working to clean up the story's pacing and fill in the plot holes in advance of sending the manuscript to my editor for line edits. My hope is to get the final version onto Kindle Unlimited by early November. It'll be publish under the title:
Eight 4: New Blood, Old Bones
What do you think? The title captures the spirit of the story, right?
As for Eight's fifth book, those chapters should start posting on Patreon in mid-to-late October. The delay between my books has historically been longer, but I'm going to try editing Four while also writing Five in parallel. I have enough experience under my belt now that it should be feasible.
Also, just so you know, Eight 5 will be the last book in the series. I believe strongly that all stories should come to their natural conclusions; going on for too long only weakens them, and it's not something I'm willing to do to Eight.
I toyed with the idea of extending the series to eight books—a fun conceit—but I realized that the themes and arcs would become repetitious. Plus, I've had an ending for Eight's story in mind for a while now. This fifth book will let it happen.
There's another series waiting patiently in the wings, and I'm excited to start working on that one next. Although, that will be the topic of an update in the future.

Oh, the other way around seems more appropriate for a title "OLD BLOOD AND NEW BONES" but the story will support either.

I dont see how the story could be wrapped up in a single volume between the desires of the gods, the invading empire, and his relationship. He just does not seem powerful enough to deal with the first two problems.
