We had half a book of buildup and then a bunch of other shit happened for the second half of the book that killed the momentum. I think a little more buildup in this scene is warranted given how stalled that plot thread has been until this chapter.

I had trouble being invested in this. There was just no buildup, it felt like reading a stand alone porno compared to their previous scenes that had a lot more tension and characterization. I feel like it needs a few paragraphs of her anticipating propositioning William, conspiring to be the delivery girl, and thinking about how she can finally release the tension he wound up in her. Especially when this is released as a second book this scene could use some work reestablishing their dynamic.

Her reaction to his question is interesting. Given your worlds being gender flipped to greater or lesser degrees, in this case particularly the use of the term 'honey spoon'. Obviously it means the stereotype is using hot guys to get girls taking rather than hot girls to get guys talking. Makes me wonder if she just hadn't considered the idea of HER being in the semi non-con situation of being ordered to seduce a man. That is of course assuming that she ISN'T in that position. Well, he’s no longer a member of his mother’s house, he’s the head of his own, so she can hardly have a say. Only way he, or his children could have a claim is if his sister’s line died out, and even then it would be his wife that would take over if he had one. Although I’m not sure about the wife part, because while it is a matriarchal society, males can still rule houses, as William does, but possibly only if there’s no females in said house. Blue would have to give some more details.

In an earlier chapter you wrote that bastards are useful to the family as probable future magic users. He is not the heir so his children would only have a very weak claim. His mother probably wouldn’t encourage his philandering as it would be unseemly to use your son as just breeding stock, but I don’t think she would be overly concerned especially if it made the county much stronger. Strong Magic users would be very valuable.
