JollyRodger

Cassius Marcellus Clay, the most dangerous abolitionist in history, is who our boy is trying to be. Aka,... slavery is wrong and I'm here to fight about it, who wants problems?

Blue Fishcake

Beta readers have it :D

SpecterJedi

Why is this one chapter a week my heroine

Eastman

Im actually paranoid its gonna be Monday lol i will turn into a gargoyle

DMR1

This is a generic well wishes post that includes generic advice to stay hydrated while sick.

Blue Fishcake

After a restless absurdly sweaty night, I thought I’d feel better with some breakfast. Threw that up. I guess I know why I’ve been feeling ‘off’ all week.

mike wade

Bringing nukes in a mere civil war is utter madness. I pray he doesn’t resort to such insanity, but will has never struck me as the sanest individual.

MarakEvans

I'd send you chocolate, but it won't make it to your side of the world before melting. Here is a digital one. [Chocolate] This one almost lasts forever, because it can't be eaten.

Blue Fishcake

For those that bet on Sunday for this week, well done. That's the likely release window. As ever, thanks for your patience :D Was kind of hoping to get Fridays back to back, but been just a little under the weather this week.

DMR1

"To that end, he smiled widely as Verity clambered out of one example of that plan. Sure, it was back to front and ugly as all sin, but it would bebut a single step on the road to him developing the biggest gun. Big enough to sway a nation." > Be but Also, oh no, he's going to bring the nuclear age screaming into this world...

The Fire Piper

It's almost that time of the week! I can smell a new chapter cookin!

DMR1

Willaim murmured as he moved around > William “I guess not,” Verity sniffed. “A failing on their part to be sure. I guess my instructors were just too focus on other things.” > focused

Conrad34xdsa

So Blue. Got any answers to the above questions that you are willing to share?

mike wade

So is the plan to build a new shard from scratch with whatever tech they can shove into it, then sell it to the queen or her allies?

Hue Man

Glad to see Verity isn’t in the dungeon for attacking a countess. The back and forth between Verity and Griffith was great, and Will referring to himself as a “hot piece of ass” is hilarious. I do want to hear where the rest of team 7 land on the Griffith & William affair, and the rumors that are spreading.

Hue Man

Which Aunt?

Asherlee

It also gives depth to the queen by illuminating her secret dealings and make her more of an agent of the story beyond another force trying to control/manipulate William

Asherlee

I really enjoy the direction this "main story" following William, I feel like there is a sort of winding down of stakes because he just finished a conflict. This wind down would be a great place to introduce a different character into the spotlight for their POV, personally I feel like the Queen or one of her invisible guards would be a good choice. They give an external view of the "main plot" and William and they are important enough where they can give an overview and context to the rest of the world. This external view of William can clue us into how the world sees he as an eccentric and somewhat mysterious genius that we don't have because we see everything from his POV. Also the world feels.. small in a word, if we get a POV from the queen, we can be shown the true extent of threats beyond petty court infighting and a looming civil war. The new POV can set up the next incoming conflict for William and build suspense when we move back to his POV like "oh no, what will he do? He doesn't even know of the villian looming on the horizon that the queen knows of" and that would make his victory that much more spectacular and cool

Oreo-belt25

idk, I prefer Sect. This is good and all, but William just doesn't feel like he has as much character as ol' Jack Johenson.

Business Casual

I think it will need to come to a head/breaking point like in Sect where he has to (for whatever reason) reveal his secret. I assume his team will be the first to know, with maybe Griffith to follow. I dont see him being open about it, just revealing it to a small group that he trust. Personally I'm too much of an open book, so characters keeping huge secrets like that from those closest to them always irks me. I just want him to be honest with his team.

Gabriel Felix

Sometimes i cant stop but feel a lonelines in William's course. He cant really relate to anyone in this world: too old of a mindset for his colleagues and too advanced for his elders. And Im afraid that his geniuses advanced mindset might create a growing distance betwen him and his team.

Ryan Streeter

I am loving this series. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Space and Sect Babes as well, but in my humble opinion this one is the best. Really hoping we can take the journey all the way to the end of slavery at least, if not to William taking over the world!!

mike wade

No. Bringing nuclear weapons to this world to avoid a mere civil war would be insanity. Nukes are WORLD ENDERS. If he has two brain cells to rub together, he'll avoid that at all costs.

Morpheus

he said plackpowder

Jonathan Gibbons

Might be a versatile one because they can change their contracts more, but for raw power I'm recalling that it's more determined by time spent awake and having experiences and emotions to convert raw aether to refined aether that matters? Because it's the refined you trade with the fae to do magic that determines the charges you have.

Jacob

> a single step on the road to him developing the biggest gun. Big enough to sway a nation. Anyone else wondering if William plans to eventually work on some spells to alter the ratio of U-235 to U-238 in a chunk of a particularly heavy metallic element?

MaybeASquid

Tbh he should have all the airfoil profiles he could ever need, and the current shards sound like iterwar fighter performance at best. He could get buy with best engineering principals till he gets closer to the speed of sound

mike wade

So making a wind tunnel would be dead simple in this world. with an aether source and source and 2 fans at the ends of a closed tube. They could easily make a wind tunnel to see the aerodynamic preformance of the shard.

mike wade

What recipe of gun powder did William send her?

mike wade

It's probably going to be a very public affair. He's going to have to dissuade the Blackstones and his own mother to not to fuck with the monarchy. So He's go to show off his new plane at every opportunity he gets.

MarakEvans

Oh, poor Verity... *peeking one eye out from under a significant face palm*

Conrad34xdsa

Great chapter. I’ve been wanting to know what the official cover art for the story will be. As it stands, the shard is ok but lacks a certain amount of flair. Perhaps William could be in his office and looking at schematics and you could see that he casts a completely different shadow on the back wall where a giant Map of the world is located. Or go full anime-Isekai with him and his team, marching to victory in the halls of the Academy. Will we be informed of any art projects that are in the works? Will there be official William artwork? Is there a portal for fan art to be displayed? Find out next time on KrakenBlueZ !!

MarakEvans

!

Sea Wolf

You can get more with a please and a gun than you can with a please alone. Al Capone, I think.

Oreo-belt25

"The power of a good arguement backed by a big gun" a little bit of Jack Johenson leaking into there lol

Timo Geerties

My take would be that he'd stuff two Mythril Cores into a single airship. One for internal workings, lift, propulsion and the like and the other for shielding. If he develops turning turrets with gunpowder to forego the ol' faithful broadside, one of the two Cores could pick up that task too since gunpowder weapons free up Aether for other stuff

Cave Johnson

Good chapter, small correction: Faux pax -> Faux pas

Marius Petrauskas

awsome chapter

MaybeASquid

Tyftc I can't tell from the wording William uses, is he planning to bring his new shard design to the academy right off the bat?

MaybeASquid

I think you'd be right if he wasn't relying so much on assistance from the queen. With them uneasy allies he can't be constantly fighting the fabric of society in his position.

HandsyUncleTickles

"She's a god damn succubus!"

zmessing11

Thoughts and prayers for William, hope he has the strength to endure the drainings 🙏.

Trevayne

Thanks for the chapter. It is interesting to see how a shard resembles an X-wing with the need to manage the flow of aether (energy) from propulsion to guns. I wonder if they can add shields at some point. Aside from being different, if he adds cartridge based machine guns instead of the aether cannon, his version of a shard can use its armament at full speed. A regular shard can't do that because it needs to devote all its aether to movement to achieve its top speed, leaving none for its guns.

Slade

awesome chapter, definitely liking where this is going, wonder if our dear instructor will be a continued "ass"et for William's fun times in the future

Moonlightwind

This is a random thought I had totally unrelated to the chapter, but would someone with narcolepsy be an extremely powerful mage? If they trained well enough couldn’t they make a contract every time they slept?

Cariuss Shadow

TYFTC "I’m a count though, so count William or just milord or also fine." I'm assuming the second should be is. Also I think it should be Count William since the title is preceding the name it should be capitalized. Anyways that's how my still waking up brain needed to rewrite it to make sense in memory.

Jeremy Grundy

The draining will continue until moral improves.

LtDan

I think it might be a mistake not to hit the ideological route too, as well as just accepting nobility. The best arguments against slavery are also at least implicitly anti feudal. It could also be unreliable narrator. I really hope that someone pushes William on that at some point.

Blue Fishcake

I did indeed. Corrected it now, thanks :D

mraanonymous

God. I wish you finished that lemon.

Lanze

Feedback: at one point Griffith speaks and then William responds "A quick tryst? ...." But Griffith didn't say that. I assume you edited it out later but the dialogue doesn't make much sense

Chargcake

Booba!

Andrew Lechner

Well, it seems William has his industrial base, at least the beginnings of one. I'm sure things are going to go a lot smoother now that he can delegate a good part of testing and manufacturing to his own people rather than keep doing everything by hand on his own.

Blue Fishcake

Fixed, thanks :D

Carlos Torres

All it took was one small misunderstanding for Griffith to take of her limiter.

CM

Thanks for the chapter! but it would ( but > be? ) a single step on the road to him

Batou

Love the story as always. Can't wait to hear the reaction of his aunt XD

Christopher Manoff

You just always know how to brighten my day
