Indeed, gentlemen. We should expect extra attendees, courtesy of sir NetNarrator's... narrated rendition of this series.

Spintool

Finally! It’s been a while sense the last degenerate day

Isak Mark

Gentlemen, today is degenerate day!

The Fire Piper

Good googly moogly, it's hype time!!!! Tommorow is the day fine fellows! Will we Xela get exactly what she wanted? Will she be impressed by the new engine after she gets her own engine revved up? Soon we will know! :)

Thinking some more about Anaria, if she is the local Lunite spy/covert ops rep, I wonder when she will be asked to look into an unusually inventive human. I understand the Queen and her spies are trying to keep William's achievements hidden, but at some point, some things are going to leak. He is already well known because of the team duel with Tala's team last year. His team used the previously unknown spellbolt weapons and someone invented the krakenslayer. Even if they don't believe he is the inventor, he may well be worth investigating because he might provide a lead to the actual inventor(s). They may also be interested in the origin of the gramophone, although I doubt they will pick up on the fact that some of the music is completely new, to the world as a whole and not just Lindholm. The spies might also look out for other unusual things. Moving the entire Alchemists Guild to Redwater is probably one of them. Especially if they learn that the move was funded by the crown.

Hunter

This is an insanely hot scene… fug, I wish I could say more about it, but it kinda caught me off guard at how good it was… and on break at work and have to get back to work now… so no more time to think up a better review.

Trevayne

Good update. I wonder if William will ever meet Anaria. He might pick up on her tension and offer to relieve it, ala James Bond. She might even be the Lunite local intelligence rep, since she has a diplomatic cover and is involved in hiring pirates for some type of covert action.

MarakEvans

In the dress, please. With the sabre and pistol. Or... in her governing work uniform... Or when she was younger as a knight... Whenever you're interested, no need to rush. 👉👈 Edit: Young/Mature Pilot Outfit 😳

The Fire Piper

Yay! My hero!!! 😎

Blue Fishcake

I can do that :D

The Fire Piper

@bluefishcake, could you possibly do an AI pic of Xela? Please 🙏🥺

O

While these sound plausible. We are forgetting the fact that these are pirates. I doubt they would be that tame.

YYEyes

Man, I really like your wordplay Blue. Thanks again for the great chapter! “A shot at me?” he laughed. “Am I some stag to be hunted to your mind? With language like that, I can’t help but wonder how your suitors lost interest.” “Outwardly.” She smirked. “Plenty of those I ‘hunted’ found themselves coming back to me in secret to be hunted again.”

Conrad34xdsa

My guess for the pirate fleets would be for a few reasons. A few that others already mentioned such as forming a communication network and logistics train to facilitate a ground invasion that will follow up after the main push to secure the land. However, there is a much larger purpose for needing the services of a sea based pirate fleet. Top cover. While the Submarine/Skyship is underwater, it is vulnerable to depth changes and could be spotted from the air. The pirates will act as neutral merchant vessels while the Subs hide underneath the hulls of the ships and be able to transit to the Islands shores. If things get hairy, the pirates can act as a vanguard to stall any ships from getting too close before the subs get to their destinations in time. Remember, the Solite empire is the one closer to Lindholm if I recall correctly. They might have to sail leagues to get to their location without getting spotted which may involve entering hostile waters earlier than they would otherwise want to.

Prometheus

Mercenaries are notorious for taking the highest bidder. There's a reason they were nearly universally Hated throughout history.

22junk

Ah, I had forgotten about the Solites using that technique.

Vlad Cold

Hmm, antlers from birth is highly unusual... even deers start growing them only month or two after birth🤔. Having them any significant size and hard at birth is just not biologically feasible for live-birth (egg-laying ones can pull the trick). The only ones with external keratinous/bony structure from live birth I can name are hedgehogs, but even they have it soft like hair at birth.

Borisoff72

Communications network, the government can keep in touch with the invasion fleet through boat borne orb relays. Timing is probably key to their plan.

MASC

That’s a smart plan. I feel like this is the most likely scenario

22junk

I’ve been pondering why the Lunites need a water bound fleet for the invasion and the best I can come up with is they don’t want to rely on raiding for food and munitions. Unless they roll over all Lindholm defenses in a swift surprise attack they’ll need a steady stream of home grown supplies that they can’t spare airships to transport. Or maybe all this revolutionary tech has created an opportunity I’m just not seeing. Here’s to hoping at least one pirate would rather take a Lindholm bribe and spill the beans than put in the work.

The Fire Piper

Well done sir!

The Fire Piper

Woot!

Blue Fishcake

Yes.

Admiralthrawnbar

My assumption is that they're going to be used to lure the local water-based ships and airships away from Port so the Lunites can surface inside them unopposed

Blue Fishcake

Next week. I mostly just used the extra time to get a head start on new chapters.

MaybeASquid

Anaria is new character correct? But assistant to the Old continent ambassador we met a few chapters ago ?

22junk

To that end, some part of me imagines you’d have a small fleet of local lads banging down your door hoping to be the next Mr. Redwater. Didn’t the name of the area change when he, Lord Redwater, took over? Should that be “hoping to be Mr. Tern” or something?

Conrad34xdsa

So just to confirm, blue will release the next part later today or next week because there were conflicting statements. Great chapter

Conrad34xdsa

Ha “Sub-Plot” that’s a good one.

MarakEvans

Omg! It's like we have a healthy schedule. *Sarcasm* Seriously, hope you enjoy some release of tension and stress, Blue.

Baron Von Mott

Damnit, why does Blue always tease us so much... 😂 Also, neat method of tying in the sub-plot at the end! 👍

Baron Von Mott

I assume they're going to try and make their own submarines, and figure that starting with purpose-built watercraft and experienced sailors will speed things up.

Marius Petrauskas

great update, thx.

Pope Yoda I

Good chapter. The interplay between your primary characters and secondary actors really sells the scene. Kind of surprised the scene didn't include the classic 'I'mma hide under the table and hope no one notices' scene. Maybe MC can eventually steal the secret of invisibility, causing his minders to panic before they eventually discover he's just using it to be an even bigger nuisance than ever? A discovery made after they also learn that the queen is riding what turns out to be a very familiar high.

Kaywye

Hehehe. William is downright eeeeeevil. And he's gonna be getting his pelvis crushed for it. Well done. Thank you for this slightly racy chapter.

Moonlightwind

Guess William did get some shots in before being pounced on, so good for him. Also if you do a fade to black on this I’ll be very sad :(.

Christopher Manoff

Man, I love seeing these notifications. Another great read, my friend!

MASC

I assume the Lunites are preparing for a secret invasion with pirate ships as a smokescreen by the sounds of it.

Carlos Torres

Not craziest thing I've heard of for a late night at Chili's.

Andrew

Thank you!

Ido Pazi

"Instead he focused all her time and energy on those sluts Teela and Meyla". shouldn't it be "his time"?
