Timothy Hare

In other words "The second one!"

Timothy Hare

I have to ask, even if I missed it, when are you going to put book two up for purchase? I bought book one after reading it and want to give more incentive to continuing the series.

Pwntatochip

Pretty sure she was part of the 5 ship force that got spaced shortly before the whisker vs maw showdown.

Gerben van Essen

what happened to agent Penora?

Seriathus

Pretty satisfying ending. Tbh, I'm not TOO keen on Jason, our "regular dude", managing to beat that kind of odds all on his own all the time, but hey, this was interesting. Makes me wonder if there'll ever be a kind of trial. Yeah, Hela was the heiress of a noble dynasty, but she was caught running a slaving ring (which IIRC the Imperium, for all its faults, DEFINITELY does not approve of) while cooperating with the Trade Consortium, the Imperium's worst enemy - and had murdered multiple members of both the military AND the Interior. Her family might be rich and powerful, but they aren't the Imperial family, and for sure they have enemies who will pounce on this story like vultures to destroy them. And it's likely that her family, while likely they'd rather be able to avenge their precious faildaughter, would probably be forced to cover their ass and deny involvement as much as possible to salvage any semblance of face and connections.

My only regret is that I read this second book so fast. No worries I will read it again (soon believe it or not) and purchase it as well. Kudos on the story telling here author. I am actually pretty happy this is here

Matthew Greco

I am impressed that you have started treating this series as a real story and not just smut, obviously that started way before this chapter but the way you ran with this and made it your own makes me proud even though I don't know you. What might have started off as a one off smut story is now a HFY universe up there with the best. this is the first time since reading enemy quest that I have found a story with the characters, action, romance and alien species/world lore that truly feel professional and I can see the passion in your work. SSB is something (like enemy quest) that I will remember and come back too when I need that sci fi romance Itch scratched

I'm excited for Jason to be the first human on Shil and for him to continue impressing and seducing his way to the top! With Raisha and Yaro added as permanent lovers It's safe to say Jason is building his anime harem happy ending one alien space babe at a time lol I have to say though, I liked book 1 more, not just because it had more smut and less moral debate and politics but because the characters were better and everything felt complete by the end, I feel like book 2 just suddenly ended with so much left unsaid and I'm disappointed to leave the Crew behind (which might be intentional) when you could have continued their character development a little bit longer. I saw this not to insult or even as a full criticism but because I know that authors need and deserve honest feedback if they are to ever grow in their craft.

Vael

I read both books in one day. I have to say, your ability to turn the smut on and off was quite amazing. I started reading for the smut, i subscribed for the absolutely riveting adventure that followed. I look forward to the continued misadventures of our boy Jason.

Sean

Super excited for book 3! I hope kernathu gets stays with Jason, but I’m super excited to see some new characters introduced. I enjoyed the whisker adventures for sure, but the characters of book one were fantastic. And I think they set the bar a little too high for most of the whisker crew to reach.

C Fern

Aand I binged the whole story in three days. I have NetNarrator to thank for hooking me on this before I even knew there was smut.

MadMachine

Now the worst part of ongoing series.... waiting ;)

SquiddlyWinks

Yaro bestgirl

Patrick Ambrose

Kernathu has got to continue to be part of his core group. She's too good of a character. Plus if he ever gets his own ship he'll need a good engineer.

Thenais

hopefully tisi will at some point makes a come back, as she is quite the tragic character for this volume.

Thenais

+1 for the hard cover

Julien Barrette

“Or, we could stay at a hotel, order absurd amounts of room service, and play video games?” Jason is living the fucking deam. This was an amazing ride. You are one hell of a writer and I can't wait to see these published. If you ever make it a physical book, I would love to buy a first edition with your name on it.

Malquidis

I can't wait for book 2 to hit Amazon. It'll be an immediate purchase! Keep it up. You're really good!

TwoRavens

Comms, sensors, and weapons. Or, as she put it, "I control the eyes, ears, and fangs of the sky-ship."

NotAWeaboo

Definitely take a break to refill that creative juice after the roller coaster that was Book 2!!! Looking forward to Book 3 and all the shenanigans in the future!

Epikos

I'm fairly happy with this ending. It hit the point with 3 major supporting characters and gets us ready for the next adventure. Great work, man. I'm happy I'm supporting this.

Andrew Jones

I'm excited to see where the next book goes as I've been miserable day until I saw you posted a chapter and it lit my whole day up despite how bitter it is with everyone being broken apart. Love your writing

Shorlas Magaskawee

I would suspect it would depend on how the information is delivered. If it's to hamfisted it would likely be seen as propaganda and not believed.

Jaredman92

I personally would love to see Kernathu to come with, if they were to split the gang up. However, I second your idea. The frigate idea would likely be a ton of fun to read.

Shorlas Magaskawee

Quite a heavy letdown here. Primarily that Assisse is willing to shoot herself in the foot, destroy her life, knowing full well it will take scales down with her. Though, if Jason wanted to be the conniving shit we know he's prone to be when it suits him, he could keep the crew together. It May cost him some of his newfound favor but I suspect he could leverage it to get the crew a new ship and keep them together. Might not be able to get a new corvette and assigned to the ass-end of nowhere watching for imaginary pirates. Might get upgraded to a frigate and get tasked running between handful of specific points keeping more valuable trade routes clear of pirates and so on. It would be the natural next step up from their previous assignment I think. A frigate would likely lead to an expanded crew... which leads to my next thought... I've often say here and amused myself with the idea of Jason pulling some fuckery and getting some members of his old cadre pulled out there with him. In some ways that would be a punishment for them, but on a certain level I am sure he and they would be all to glad to be re-united as well. A frigate would be just the excuse to bring them in as the new expanded crew. Poor Tisi in all this... it makes me wonder. How did she get that assignment? Was Hela involved? If so... does Tisi know Hela was involved in getting her that assignment? And worse.. if Hela did help, and Tisi knows this, is she now faced with the realization that Hela may have done so because she believed Tisi to be an easy fool that could be used as a pawn in her slave trade gig that would be to stupid to ever be a threat to her? Could we now have Tisi mostly unhappy becuase of the realization she has just been a 'useful idiot' the entire time, for someone she thought was a friend. Kernathu... I am amused with here. Not just because of her being the adorkable nerd, but because even when face with an almost literal 'Hey, wanna fuck?' she still wants a social experience first. Even after being interupted last time, she would still rather spit in the face of billions of her 'sisters' by taking a 'friends now fuck later' approach to Jason practically giving it up for her. This is great growth for her. At least for certain this is a case of Jason leaving things better than he found them. If they are forced to part, and there is no way to salvage this for him, then the best thing he can do to make sure they part on the best possible terms is... the morning after their night of 'gaming and beyond' is if he takes her on a date the next day, that involves her exosuit fitting. Yaro was the character in this group I liked the most, and gravitated towards the most. Large, powerful, melee combatant, honorable, and holding strongly to a culture that has inspired a fair bit of curiosity. I am glad she has taken to Jason, and intends to 'lay claim' to him. I am suspecting she will not quite succeed though. I am starting to suspect I see an intended pattern in the books. For each book, Jason will have a different 'location' per book, and at the end part ways on... messy terms but take one 'wife' with him, which he may then not have access to due to distance and military demands. While having a good reliable structure like this is great for trying to explore and flesh out a world, or in this case, a universe, it pretty much sucks for the protag and for those of us getting attached to particular characters. If this turns out to be the case... I will grumble. A lot. But I will continue to follow the stories in the hopes that we will get to see returning cameos, or even better, get them all re-united together in one place for a nice climax story of some sort. as a DM, and D&D player, seeing returning faces in a living narrative is some of the biggest thrills because it helps establish and remind the players that it's all one big living world. Not a world where people stop existing when they are no longer important to the forward plot. I still think the Frigate is the best path, for my optimistic wishing.... But I am willing to let these characters go for now, as long as we can see them again later. But not Yaro. Yaro I want to stay. I'll kick something small and helpless if we lose Yaro.

Blue Fishcake

Maybe I need to clear it up a bit, but when combined with the later sections, what she's essentially saying is that the reason she thinks Jason is leaving the crew is because he's now he's too famous for it - not because Tisi has said that she plans to remove him.

Ripley Riley

I'm having a hard time parsing the exchange below. Is she saying Tisi doesn't intend to kick Jason off the crew or that not everyone knows Tisi intends to kick Jason off the crew? Sorry for being dense. --- He sighed at that. “Given you’re using the past-tense there, I assume everyone knows Tisi intends to kick me off her crew?” “I fear that our venerable captain will not have much of a crew left when all is said and done, what with the loss of our venerable sky-ship.” She sat down on one of the seats. “But in response to your question, the answer is no.” “It is?”

Madison Perella

This has gotten to the point where I wish I could have each chapter mailed to my door. I would probably be about as excited as Kernathu.

Dirk Wallace

Now that I think about it, what was Yaro's role on the ship? I can't recall what her job was.

TwoRavens

*Adorkable. FTFY.

TwoRavens

Awww, Yaro! For all her stoicism she's a hopeless romantic.

TwoRavens

Character development! It's not that surprising. He's been getting better. Slowly, to be sure, but he has been working on it.

notreal name

I see him getting a promotion. I'm wondering about information on his exploits trickling down to earth. Would the people be proud of him for his achievement. I think i would, hearing about badass solder man would definitely get me past any reservations about joining the shilitary as well.

Prognastat

Just can’t not love Kernathu.

Arvin Reyes

Seriously? Hanky panky? Hahaha you sound like my mother.

Tim Speller

THE SECOND ONE god Kernathu is adorable

Joshua Flowers

Tact? Jason? That is surprising.
