I think the second option should be possible to implement? I can't remember if you're using your own engine or something Ren'Py based though. (I have a vague feeling that the older BTD games were made in Ren'Py but I might be wrong).

call me crazy but i feel like this is one of those details you might be staring at for too long. i don’t think most people would’ve noticed, unless there are other instances of the chains messing with the art. nudging the couple of cgs of strade close to the camera slightly down or to the left/right could do the trick maybe? looks great gato, keep up the amazing work!

That's because of Germany's laws unfortunately. Germany has banned the sale of adult games, and Steam complies with that ban by hiding TPOF from the German audience. It is available on Itch.io since that's a smaller company who doesn't do anything to comply with the bans. [ So YKMET will not show up on Steam in Germany either, but will be available on itch.io ]

If the manager himself isn't aware of how his partner is costing him in terms of business, Lord pray that he realizes it soon before he ends up with a future lawsuit or worse due to her carelessness. 😅 That said, his partner definitely sounds like the classic case of DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Any talks, texts, e-mails you have with her? Get that shit time-stamped, screenshot, and in writing/recorded of what was said and WHO said it. That way, if she plays the whole "He said, she said" gaslighting or scapegoat/blame-others routine, you got the receipts to call her out on her bullshit. E-mail both her and the company manager after each meeting, with a timestamped synopsis/summary of what was discussed, just so "You both can look over it and review, just in case there's anything I may have missed and we all remain on the same page." 😉 Good to do, especially in front of the company manager. It's also a more indirect way of showing the manager that his chosen partner sucks ass at their job if she gets forgetful/argumentative, without you bluntly telling him and possibly getting defensive due to the rose-coloured glasses one often wears around loved ones. 😅 Even if you can't do this as much with the current company, you can still use this method for any other future partnerships you take on. But yeah, sounds like you got a good head on your shoulders, Gato. Make those voice recordings/written records whenever you interact with her (cause she obviously lacks the initiative to do it), and keep protecting/advocating for yourself! 💪🔥 I'm rooting for ya, Gato!!! RAWR!!! 🐯

Catching that stuff as soon as you feel The Very Specific Sensation saves so much headache and frustration (as an artist that kept blowing it out during finals season back in college, myself orz). Not to make too light of the situation, but the stuff goin' on with the reno manager's partner does sound like something out of Kitchen Nightmares, though hopefully not as bad!! Sounds like there's a good chance it'll be cleared up, and I'm hoping that's the case! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I also really love the chain UI! Having it disappear for certain close-up sprites sounds good, but (since I don't know if it's really attached to anything else/how easy or difficult of a fix it would be) would it maybe be possible for it to be moved under the sprite "layer"? 🤔 I also (obviously) haven't seen all the sprites, so I dunno if there's some that would ruin the vibe or if it would mess with the CGs! I'd hate to see them go, but it sounds like you're working on a plan to keep 'em around =)

I like the UI chains! I am allllmost tempted to suggest you just keep them as they are. If anything, it'll just be one goofy frame the fans can treat as a silly inside joke type thing. I am vividly imagining the popular Tumblr posts haha. Otherwise, it could definitely just be a graphic that appears with generic standing sprite poses. It might lend to the screenshot function anyway, since I'd imagine players would mostly want to screenshot the fun poses/scenes. Though it does mean we won't get to see as much of them, and they may become slightly jarring when they appear, depending on the scene. I'm sure whatever you end up doing will be good though!! It'll still be YKMET, regardless of how the fancy UI flairs work

Haha well, I should say that the vast majority of my customers are SO understanding and kind. Even most of the ones looking for a refund have been extremely understanding, so I am very grateful for that. I also [ just now ] got notice that the seller protection program worked for one of my refunds so that's fantastic [ Sometimes when a case is opened Etsy will refund the buyer with Etsy money, not my money, when Etsy deems the issue wasn't my fault ] And as for the reno meeting, my dad said he'll come with me for emotional support, so I'm really glad for that. I'm actually not too freaked out about the meeting because I have no issues with the company manager [ who I will be meeting with ]. He's been perfectly fine to deal with through emails. The issue I have is with his wife?girlfriend? who was the one I was working with to organize everything. I've been nervous the whole time because she was often distracted, forgetful, never writing anything down, and just sort of generally not interested in the details which are... her entire job. I held on and just hoped she was remembering everything but now it has become clear she hasnt and they want to charge me extra for stuff I thought was part of the original quote because I told her like 4 times I wanted it. She has apparently claimed that I am lying about telling her [ I've also witnessed her blame other employees multiple times when I called her out for forgetting things... ] Soooo it's a big mess. But I trust the guy who actually owns the company and if I get charged more, then it is what it is. I'll just have to work off more debt.

Also a few other people have floated the idea of simply toggling the chains for this specific scene- I admit I 'm a bit surprised to see such strong support for the chains since they were a bit controversial in the old server back when I made them. I may actually go with this 4th option, since it would be relatively simple. I could even do as another person suggested and leave the chains there for memelord and let strade break the 4th wall and mention it 😂

I don't know if you got other friends or family around you, but leaning on them (even if it's just for emotional support) or finding outside experts may be of help. Hmmm, honestly I think this is the first 'problem' we've seen with the chains, so maybe just a switch to toggle them off during certain scenes that involve a character showing up waaay offcenter? (can't be that many) And it's December, things are going to naturally slow down for everyone due to holiday, weather, and family stuff. I think most of us will understand if this month is a bit more on the 'taking a bit of a holiday' -side. Sorry to hear about the reno troubles. Going through some of that myself, my waterheater finally went, and it ended up flooding the 2 nearest rooms to it, now I'm trying to pry up floorboards and open up soaking drywall, AND it was thanksgiving so I couldn't find anyone local during the holiday to come install a new one, so no hotwater for showers or dishwashing for the last couple days. T-T Stay strong!! I'm so sure things are going to work out for everyone eventually.

I honestly love the chains, I feel like they just add a certain style to the game that is just *chefs kiss* so if anything I'd say make them a little smaller or have them only appear during 'caual' scenes of the game, and when something dramatic or big happens have them disappear to indicate 'yeah you should probably focus Broski' But that's just my thoughts :33
