Saturday Update!

I'm happy to report that I got a lot more writing done this week, and I seem to have mostly gotten over my writer's block.
I know that added blob doesn't look like a lot but there was actually quite a bit of content to add in there. Lots of technical stuff [ I'll explain in a sec ] and also two new NSFW scenes [ which came out pretty long and also needed '''SFW''' versions ]
The reason I say 'technical' is because there was a lot of alternate possibilities in this stuff, which means a lot of writing for different scenarios and a lot of small changes to acknowledge different choices in the script after.
This chunk of script also included the bathroom locked door scene that was in the original game. I wanted the scene to play out almost exactly like the original because that was a highlight of the original [ in my opinion ], and boy did I not know the can of worms I was going to open LMAO
I thought I could just dig out the old code and slap it in but :) turns out the timer code I used back in 2017 was deprecated, and the whole thing only worked because my dialogue box and hp bars in the original had no transitions.
I needed to write a new timer [ very easy, this was not a problem ], and then go through every UI object on screen and write in alternate versions that would respond to a new variable to tell the game to stop using their transitions [ otherwise, everything on the screen would fade out and in every time Lawrence's sanity dropped ]. THAT was the time consuming part, and tweaking it all to finally get it smooth ended up taking around 2.5 hours x_x
But it works smoothly as intended now and I also got to use the code setup on a different part too, spicing it up a little :D
Also I've said it before but Lawrence is pretty different from the original version. The more I write the more clear it's getting. He's not that cute any more π
There's an odd moment here or there but I think that for the most part, the atmosphere is more tense.
I think one of the things I struggled with in the writer's block [ and may again, still ] is that I think readers may not like game as much as Strade's, because Law isn't nearly as warm as him. But I'm moving forward with how I want to write it regardless. At the end of the day, I am still making art for myself first and then letting other people see it.
I've gotta stick to my guns!
Oh yeah, I actually finished the writing I wanted to complete by noon on Friday so I had some time to experiment with sketches again:

In my personal sphere, things are going quite well now too. Willow's doing SO good, I think I can call her 'totally healthy' now. Her poops are completely normal now [ I will spare you the poop saga but know that I have been obsessively checking them π ] and she's on a new record-breaking 13 day streak with no barfs. Her new gentle stomach food combined with an automatic feeder that gives her 6 little meals a day seem to have really done the trick.
It's a huge relief for me!!!
Here she is enjoying the first snowfall of the year! There's been a ton of little birds hanging out in the bushes outside. She's so adorable about them, she doesn't go crazy or try to hunt them, she tries to stay out of their sight so she can curiously watch them.
I've also attached a short vid of her playing!
I also did a sort of art project with my mom last Sunday that I've been planning for months. I bought round frames and a bunch of dried moss to make wall decorations for my living room:

I did burn myself pretty good with a glue gun, but beauty is pain I guess LMAO
And here they are all done in my living room! [ if you hate them plz dont be mean about them cuz I love them π ]

All in all, I'd say it was honestly a really good week. I'm hoping the ball will keep rolling smooth with writing next week!
For now though, it's time to relax for the weekend.

So I've been a fan of your work for a long long time. The only reason I joined your Patreon is because of YKMET:Lawrence. I want to say that the way you bring nuance and clarity to topics, is the exact reason the previous route was my favorite. I genuinely think you are the right person to improve the original, not necessarily due to your right as being Lawrence's creator, but because of the integrity you've shown in handling different story lines.

The decorations are so so cute!!! I think they look great on your green walls!ππ I personally love the changes to Lawrence, his coldness matches him and IF he shows any amount of his softer side it will be twice as rewarding. Maybe even unnerving too, who knows how fast that "softness" will be ripped away (or back fire do to it scarring him)! The anxiety possibility are endless and so exciting! ππ

Gato I always tell my partner and friends this because it's funny to me- but you deleting your tumblr was my burning of Alexandrea. YEARRRS ago I recall sending an ask about how your boys would act to an MC with scars already (as someone with pretty gnarly s/h burn scars on my own arm-) and your response for Lawrence lives on like, a golden pedestal, inside my brain. It did irreparable (welcomed, might I clarify~) changes to my entire being and psyche and SOUL. The idea of him (or anyone) being dangerously fascinated and captivated with them. And I. Think about it a lot. Thank you for that. Sex is great but you ever have someone be mentally unhinged about abnormalities to your body in a rather creepy almost frightening way. Maybe- Maybe someone who wants to reach up inside your shell and touch your vital organs. yeaaaaah. That's where it's at baby. Anyways I just had to share that because Lawrence is my. Favorite Character. In. All media, actually. I'm so definitely normal about him, and don't have him as my phone lock screen till this day.
