That's so many questions... But yeah, this arc is made to play with the 2 mc and your player is not related. The sphere is similar to a soul dew, but is more than that. About the southern Island is not related with Alta Mer. Sphere had different cicles in the story, and it was so many years before in the deep ocean from Cardenal City. But now, it's located in Southern Islands.
