Secret Weapons

He'd be fine with that question, he didn't kill him. Kiri killed him. Nate's the one who is under investigation with regards to the dead noble. He's the crafter attached to the shop. If they need someone clean for questioning, its him. Also, we did not see how Deverell disposes bodies, he said he'd "take care of it" and then Kiri/Nate left. So we, and more importantly Nate, still has no clue. If he learned off screen, its worth mentioning it in this chapter.

Fairly sure that Britt has been part of Null's team for a very long time, and both the twins ran from the Guild competition as soon as their cover broke.

We already saw how Deverell dispose bodies and I think that Nate can do better than him now thanks to his illusions. Though I agree that not even mentioning it to his platinium advicers is stupid. As for tricking a truthfulness skill, I don't think that not knowing where the corpse is would make a difference. A simple quesion as : Did you kill him? would be all that's needed to reveal the trick

Thank you for the chapter :D

I still think Brit might be one of the twins....

A shopfront with the items stored in realistic images on the wall/shelves and the picture demonstrates what it does. Using his runes he could key it to be accessible only to specific people... excellent theft prevention. Or a delivery catalogue where the tome is keyed to specific 'duplicate space' boxes. The purchaser picks out the item they want to purchase, and that informs an someone at a warehouse/shop who uses the sister box to directly 'deliver' the item through the catalogue. The potential is endless!

Once again you have crazy shit happen to Nate and Kiri and then they immediately see their sponsors afterwards.... and don't mention it. Dude, that's pretty dumb. Kiri is from the sticks and Nate is mostly clueless on this world, to just assume a quick teleport and acid is enough to cover their tracks is ridiculous. They have no clue of the kinds of forensic or tracking magics that could exist in this world. Them not immediately getting help with the disposal is dumb enough, but to then afterwards see one of the Platinums and not bring it up? I can't believe Nate would be smart enough to achieve all he's done but then also this dumb.... makes zero sense. They should've had Deverell dispose of the body without giving them details, so that even under forced truthfulness, they can say they "don't know where he is".... now Nate cannot say that.

Incorporating his realmwalker class, what about paintings that you can enter/inhabit? Make a connected alternate world only accessible through his paintings? And the inverse of that, paintings of tools, fortifications, and anything else he could want saved in paintings that he can bring out at a moment's notice.

TYFTC! Fun ideas to explore, Life from Art, and Art from Life. Couple of thoughts. It's highly likely there's tracking magic/skills that are more related to a persons soul than their physical location and appearance. If anyone applies something like that, then the trails going to lead to where he died and probably to Kiri too, seeing how she's absorbed the soul involved. There's probably other things he's not considering, seeing as he's biased by non-magical thinking to some extent. (edit) Add on the basic info of what was Koriolos last working on, and his history with Nate too, I'm sure ramifications will follow. Seeing as their dungeon run is going to be attacked by assassins, I'm concerned that we're being setup for a death of a companion plot point, and the most likely target is Britt. Someone Nate cares about, but is not fundamentally important to the overarching story. Hope I'm wrong, as it feels a bit basic in concept, and I don't know how obligatory it should be for authors to kill a character to ramp tension and drive motivation. Evindal's death is an option too, although feels less likely due to him probably having tricks up his sleeve that haven't been factored for, along with his recent growth.

Perhaps a painting of a character that changes their outfit (presumably based on what clothing the people around them are wearing)? Each day, a different outfit. A good painting to put outside of a clothing shop. Or perhaps a character that will sometimes disappear from one painting, only to appear on another. The changes should probably be frequent enough that the locals would know that there are changes, but infrequent enough that people won't actually see things changing. Because if people do see things changing in front of their eyes, that's just going to attract *way* too much attention.

A moving "WHERES WALDO" painting or book would be cool for kids, in the slum area. Always a new spot to find him.

Adaptive living art? Like a painting or statue in a market that offers directions to people who ask? Or an actual chose your own adventure picture book? That's kinda awesome.
