Dan M

TYFTC.... and also, way more politely than it's going to come across: MMMMMMMOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please and thank you!

Mark Corwin

So calm. When is the action going to begin? 😜

Connor Mcharg

Ah, I thought it was in a combat class, so when I checked book two (it just arrived), and found that it ended just after the Tournament, I went back to checking the chapters here and still couldn’t find anything.

Ellake

It did and you're right. It was from the Tournament. Reflections in Ice lets Coralie move herself or 'something' from one piece of ice to another.

Connor Mcharg

No, I’m pretty sure the last time we saw her having a training battle, she used her reflections in ice to move from one to another. …unfortunately, I can’t seem to find that chapter - it might be one of the ones that got taken down as part of the kindle unlimited publishing contract, and I’ve only got book one in print (so far - book two has been ordered).

Secret Weapons

I do find it a tad too convenient that Coralie managed to slip away from Nate, a SPACE mage, and just in time to miss Kiri being reborn as well.... but whatever, I'll roll with it, I'm sure it was done for narrative purposes. I wonder how the Guild is going to react to this. Bordain seems the type of load who wouldn't allow the Guild to be independent in his kingdom, so they'll all have to go on the run.... I'm imagining Morgane will be setting up some sort of Rebellion, supported by the Guildies and her own noble allies.

Secret Weapons

Given the shitstorm that kicked off right as she did it, I think very few are even around to see her reborn... so most will assume she is dead and thats the end of it... a good hidden card for Nate/Morgane to have up their sleeve in the war to come.

Avdrdr

I think she’s going to regret that

triscuit73

Reflections in ice suggests a mirroring effect, I would see that as more creating a similarity between the two ice cubes rather than a direct transportation of the poison. Spatial effects seem less likely with kiri being the one to react first instead of nate.

BaguaBrady

Certainly got an achievement for surviving a double death poison dose as a plus though

nicolas

Maybe she just wanted to level up her revival skill. She had full confidence she would come back to life, so why not do it with style. (And she only partialy revealed her power. Most don't know the potency of the poison and even the ones that knows will think that she just has a very powerfull poison mitigating skill and not a revival skill. (+ Kiri is someone who acts first and think later whatever the consequences)

James Squibb

It was the prefects plan to become nobility through assassinating the princess.

Connor Mcharg

No, linking the ice cubes just let the poison flow into the princesses cup instead of her own (or maybe as well as her own, I know I wouldn’t trust Coralie’s drink) - they might not have even been linked by the time Kiri drank. Kiri drank because if she’d said it was poisoned and she was wrong, she would’ve thrown an acusation that would’ve harmed an innocent person’s reputation.

TerrestrialOverlord

Why did she drink? Here is why -This is poisoned 🤢 *What? How do you know? -I just suspect. *Are you trying to kill the princess -No I'm not *How can we be sure, surrender yourself and you will be shown mercy -We don't have time for this something is going on *Silence surrender now -princess believe me.........

Jack Trowell

It was show in an early chapter that Coralie mother had an offer from a prince to kill the princess and in exchange get elevated to nobility

Andrew Boyer

Realizing that it was the most convincing way to communicate that it was poison (although saying "that's poisoned" would also have worked), she's just given away a huge piece of her build.

triscuit73

Bordain offered Coralies mom nobility if she helped kill his sister. That's why she wanted Coralie to ingratiate herself. Kiri most likely drank the poison cause it was the quickest way to test. Not so much to save Morgane but to see if Coralie betrayed her. The latter was why she was willing to risk her life. She knows Coralie never got close enough to Morgane to directly poison the drink so she might have been expecting it to be magic, which it was, that could also be undone from a distance, which I suspect it could have been by unlinking the ice cubes.

Jamison Schneider

Bordain is a good villain in that I would really love to slap him repeatedly.

Master James

There was a chapter, don't remember which, where it showed Coralie's mother telling her to poison the princess. The ingratiating is just an assumption everybody else made. And who knows why she drank it 🤷🏽‍♂️

Aaron Schwartz

Why did Coralie try to kill the princess? Isn’t her mother trying to get her to ingratiate herself with Morgane? I thought Bordain’s people were going to try to kill her (which they clearly attempted to do after the poisoning failed). Second question, why did Kiri drink it? I mean, maybe she thought she wouldn’t be believed if she just claimed it was poison, but surely there was an easier way out of this situation than drinking it herself and relying on her embodiment!

BloodStorm

It finally hit the fan and I’m here for it

James Squibb

Can't wait for the next chapter....or 5 lol.

Raymond Mouton

Thanks for the chapter. It has definitely hit the fan…
