🕑 Added 2025-07-02 23:41:34 +0000 UTCHey, this jumpscared me because it's a real-life thing (it's good news). So I had an appointment with a doctor today (it's good news) and after a long yappathon she diagnosed me with ADHD. (This is good news)
Assuming treatment goes well, there's a chance that I may be able to lock the fuck in as the standard instead of a form of self-torture. Treatment for the disorder isn't some kind of on/off switch, so no-one can say how long it'll take before improvements begin, but I'm optimistic that this'll help with work ethic and focus. Hopefully I can start eliminating those days where I have to take a break after every 2 renders, or I alt+tab out just to google something and then don't alt+tab back in unless I watch 2 movies and jerk-off first.
Just wanted to share the good news and that, on a personal level, this diagnosis has brought closure to some long-standing character flaws of mine.
I'm not one to do a write up on these kind of things, so that brief summary is the gist of it.
I'm going back to work and gobble some fucking lisdexamfetamine while I'm at it.

It's so good to hear. I was diagnosed one year ago and was giver Ritalin. It made me so frustrated knowing I could have been that efficient all those years, but it's amazing finally being able to FINISH WHAT I START. Good for you, my friend.

If you do adderrall never and I mean ever cold turkey it if you want off of it lower the dose slowly. Friend of mine almost died after he couldn't get any do to insurance crap.

Welcome to the club! Just don’t be afraid to tell your doc that something isn’t working or it’s working but has side effects you don’t like. Lots of people think “woo cheap adderall!” But adderall only worked for me for a few hours and bumped my anxiety up too high. Eventually found something that worked well for me.
