The story is about an apprentice mage named Megumin sleeping at her master's house when she is suddenly woken up by someone named Mii claiming to be an "Earth Goddess" and wants her to use her magic to make Mii bigger. The mage refuse at first, since her master is away and she knows that her master is better at casting these spells than her but when Mii mockingly makes a remark on her skill, she instead decided to accept the request.

I suppose my only issue with this was that we didn’t get to see more of the relationship between Megumin and Mii. Don’t get me wrong, it makes sense given how things turned out, but I was really enjoying their dynamic and felt their relationship would have been better to pursue overall. Delving into what we got, the disconnect between them was great. I liked the way the situation dramatically escalated and a misunderstanding developed regarding the nature of the change. Mii believed it was due to Megumin's magical mastery, while in reality, it was a "mishap". I'm fond of these undertones where what is perceived as intentional, or normal, is actually a significant problem. The complete lack of issue, then, is incredibly compelling, as we, the audience, are privy to the reality of the situation and the feelings of the creator of the problem. Other than that, I loved the female 'pockets'; that was gold. I think we found the cheat to infinite money: ‘growing’ your clients. I wonder if this is what they meant by economies of scale 🤔 😏 And now that I’m invested in this ‘holding,’ indirect comparisons, such as objects becoming a means by which size can be gauged, are a great wealth of inspiration for the imagination. I enjoy the less-direct means of illustrating the comparison, like the coined bag drop 🫳💰 In the end, it paid off in a big way, so I was happy with the return 📈💵
