I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Fran. I lost my beloved dog Genna 6 months ago, after having her for 8+ spectacular years. The loss was devastating to me - like you, I had some horrible times and Genna got me through. I almost believe God brought her to me in a timely fashion, because the first incident was a month after I got her. Prior to Genna, I would not understand what you are going through - but now I do. Cherish the good memories of Missy Cat. Animals are such a blessing.

Sad to hear. My cat looks so similar they could be related (yet thousands of miles apart). Mine too has a fierce independent streak more on the side of wild animal than house pet, yet insists on curling up on the end of my bed each night. I am a chosen human.

This is so sad to read. I wanted to acknowledge Missys final tweet too, but it seems inappropriate to "favorite" it. Cats are such wonderful creatures, and all of us that have had the pleasure of sharing our life with one are lucky people indeed.
