Surely your old landlord can't act in a way that could damage your health? Surely, that's unlawful. If they want you out so they can start work that presents a threat to your wellbeing, it's their responsibility to buy the remainder of your lease or wait until your lease expires. You should look into this..

As others have advised, please seek legal advice ! A lawyer might be able to delay the demolition if it is impacting your health or business. A consultation won’t cost much and it will at least provide you with knowledge and hopefully options.

Hi Fran. Great decision on standing your digs and giving the single finger salute to the oppressors. After watching your review I saw the movie and binged watched lots of live aid stuff. It brought back that time and was amazing to relive. Thanks for that review. :)

I seriously wonder if this is legal for them to do. Check your lease. Some apparently include a right to demolish and rebuild during a tenancy, but they would typically have to give six months notice. Demolishing a building with tenants LIVING in it sounds questionable though. That is a rather different matter from a pure commercial lease. Is there any Citizens' Advice place in your town? If so I'd definitely ask if they have a lawyer who can clarify your rights on this.
