Adam Savage Project Egress Apollo 11 Hatch Live Build!
🕑 Added 2019-07-20 10:47:17 +0000 UTCThe thrilling conclusion of Project Egress happened on July 18, 2019 at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum where Adam Savage and his team constructed the Apollo 11 Command Module Hatch from all the components that we made. My latch, and my name, are now on exhibit in the same hall as Glamorous Glennis, The Spirit of St. Louis, Neil Armstrong's Apollo 11 Moonwalk Suit, and all the others. I also got to sign the hatch along with all the other makers that attended this marathon 5-1/2 hour build. Enjoy!

What a buzz. Really could not have been more special than to see your own work up there for everyone to see. Well done Fran and glad you stuck with it (and had enough spare batteries ;) )

Great to see that your hard work is now part of an exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Now I have another reason to go there some day. Thanks Fran!

Was hoping they'd let you up there to bolt on your own latch!
Great job Fran.👍

What a work of art, beautiful. And a lovely walnut latch down there on the right.

Superb! A Huzzah from the UK for seeing an artist and craftsman at work. Not sure if that's crafts women or crafts person :-)
