Modify A Leatherman Wave Holster For Quick Draw!
🕑 Added 2019-07-30 05:23:01 +0000 UTCAn easy little project to make a quick draw holster for my Leatherman Wave, something that would function much like what Adam Savage had made for his Wave that I saw him use many times at the Project Egress build at the Air and Space Museum. Enjoy!

It's just what is on the shelf in the US really - and closed size / weight to tool numbers I suppose.

Properly maintained those old industial machines never wear out.

There's always more on a multitool then I'll ever use - but I think the blade and scissors are the most useful in a pinch. Tweezers are a good feature but not found in these bigger multitools.

Love these little projects of yours to make life a little easier. And finally got to see you do some sewing. Sweet! Got to love those old sewing machines. They are built to last. I'm in my early 60's and I have some Union Specials and Singers at my shop that might be older then me. They seem to run forever if you just keep them oiled and clean them out every once in a while. Thanks for sharing your videos Fran.
I commented on the vid on YouTube about me loosing 3-4 of those. I want to buy a new one, but Iβd like to get some input on what to buy. What are your thoughts on what version to buy? Fran: awesome vid. Are you happy with the wave or are there features you are missing?

I'm curious on your thinking on the pros and cons between Leatherman and Swisstool. Do you have a video on your choice of the Wave?

Both are nice, however, they do not presume that the person wearing these will be in a crowded place where pickpockets abound.

Is βBig-ass scissorsβ the technical term for them, Fran? π

In case it helps, Adam Savage also talks about his holster in his book β pages 162-163 in my copy (βIncrease your loose toleranceβ). The current version seems to be the product of several rebuilds. Yours is a very useful quick hack of the default case β and avoids the metal entirely. Ewen
Funny, we use 'Bic' as a synonym for a(ny) rollerball pen, took me a second to think of their lighters too :)
