Thanks for sharing. It was interesting. As for what to do with it? Time for a giveaway? Quiz? Raffle?

Like Kevin mentioned, the Systainer boxes are for pack-out style tool transport where you stack interlocking cases and wheel them from truck to jobsite or you can stack like tools in easy-to-store groups in a workshop. I'm personally not real satisfied with pack-out style boxes for tools, but I use similar stackable carry cases for small parts on my truck. I've seen a lot of carpenters and cabinet guys use them on jobs.

Maybe you need another lightbox or something? I too agree it is not tool box shaped. But it would be a shame not to find a use for it.

Yea - but I'm really not feeling the vibe to do anything with it right now.

Oh, thanks.

You're welcome - and will do!
Since you have the template, it should be possible to substitute balsa or pine for the foam and cover it with felt or fabric.

I don't think you have ever put out a "BAD" video Fran, granted some are more interesting and in depth than others. The comments are interesting and informative too, already I have learnt from the comments on this one!
It is a Systainer, not a toolbox. Festool like most major professional tool companies have long a go switched away from individual tool cases. At least for professional tools here in Germany. The Systainer system is not meant to be carried far rather the Systainers are stacked and put on a dolly so that you can transport all your equipment in one go. Also there are accessoires like small benchtops or small parts magazines for the stack. There is even some limited compatibility between Systainers of different tool companies. I think Bosch and Festool are compatible and I have Metabos which can go on top of Makitas.

Maybe a box for something that needs to be carried horizontally? Paints? Portable ink / calligraphy writing box? Could you "shape" balsa for the insert? Thanks Fran for all this Patreon content. Keep safe!
