How Do Card Shuffle Machines Work???

Please be careful with those Rayovacs- I had them in a device that I never use and they started leaking after 2 months. Previously, I had a different brand of batteries in the same device for years, and there never was a problem.

Because of my height it is usually necessary to have that downward angle of the camera to be able to see the bench in the same shot. Because of the wide aspect ratio of HD, the vertical is very limited. If I were really short or if people would prefer a really far away wide angle shot of me then framing would be much less of a problem.

What I do wonder is why you take a high camera stand , as if you are looking up to us, virtually making us look down on you. That's not how I regard you at all. About the Open Closed, wonder if there's a model that has a spring clip mechanism (but like CD/DVD trays), would also explain these half moon cut-outs in the bottom of that tray. And explain why it is falling out in this model -lol

Essential tremor? I feel your struggle. I've recently got the same diagnosis (although I'm in my 20s). Mundane stuff gets complicated, like eating soup. Also no more lab work or SMD soldering for me. Meh, gotta show the universe that your will is still strong, even if the body slowly fails! :)

Quite interesting. Never seen one before and it didn't do at all what I expected. So it's really a machine that interleaves the two stacks of cards. I wonder if there's an expensive Vegas grade one that really does a thorough shuffle in one pass with a crypto secure randomisation function.

At $US12 a deck, I could mail you some. Here in Europe I have seen them from €3 to as much as €15 per deck. I guess if I sent them as gifts, we could dodge the customs. Shipping can't be much either.

Two separate motors gives more chance of randomness, as like in flashing LED's, they are never identical in their performance, however if they were linked, there couldn't be random shuffling as the both sides would always be in sync.

If there was only one shuffler motor and the two sides were mechanically linked wouldn’t it be less random? Also how could you get a link between the two mechanisms when the cards end up dropping between them onto the shuffled card tray.

Of course if the two sides were synchronized, you would get less randomness which is the opposite of what you want in a card shuffler. It's a card shuffler, not a card alternator.

Also, plenty of places specify that you need 7 shuffles for a deck of 52 cards to statistically do a good job randomizing them. So 2 or 3 won't do it.

On things like that, if I have to get inside, I usually move the feet just off the screw holes (if there's room). That way if I ever have to get in again, no need deal with the feet.

I wonder if the shuffler could handle an old deck with it's creases and irregularities.
