Fran, I know it hurts your pride to ask for another 'go fund me' account but, please do it, I will chip in.

I am! 100%.

Weirder fact - the further up you go the more piloting there is to do, until you get away from the Earth altogether... then it's smooth sailing.

oh, DEAR...

I can help you fly…. Even without an airplane! 🤪😜🤪

Fran, you can do this easy! You don't seem to be the panicking type and being cool-headed is an excellent trait for any pilot to have. You just have to get your aeromedical certificate. A note of caution on that, though. If you take ANY prescriptions, they pretty much deny you your certificate. So if you take something that isn't even of any "street value" at all, but has even the minutest effect on brain function, like Zoloft or some other benign anti-depressant, or sleep aid, they get all in a fit and deny you your medical certificate. So be careful about what you disclose to the FAA doctor. No, we don't need any mentally unstable pilots up there, but as long as they have unlimited access to alcohol, that could be FAR worse than most legal prescriptions. I had to prove that prescriptions I stopped taking years ago are still not being taken and I don't even want to be a pilot. The Air Force required aeromedical certificates for anyone flying in a military aircraft, even if they are never intended to touch the flight controls. Maybe that's changed in recent years? Don't know. After some of the hard landings I had to endure in large Air Force tankers, I'm not sure if the student pilots SHOULD have been on opiates! Being in a huge flying gas station does provide the convenience of a free cremation service upon crash landing, so that saves some bucks...

Just do it! Where are you taking lessons? I got my private at the Chester County airport (KMQS) in 1993 flying Piper Archers. I used King Schools for the written stuff for my Private then Instrument and finally Commercial. Do get your Medical / Student license ASAP. If you have questions, just ask - I'll be glad to assist. No longer fly because of medical concerns.

Enjoy your new adventure Fran.

I hope to be here to see you do all these things!

I wondered that, too, and based on some other comments it's from a band called Sparks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparks_(band)

What is on your T-shirt? It is so familiar but I can't quite place it.

Go for it Fran!
Gotta say, we have been missing you. But the thought that you are chasing a dream is well worth the wait. In the meantime, I've been working on my own list: Adding the word Monumentous® to the lexicon with official recognition by Webster and attribution to you. Also, a T-Shirt with the phrase "Computers Do It Better" is in the works! Good Luck!

You only have to look at the SERIOUS problems with Tesla's autonomous driving to see how well computers can really do things! If you want to set up another gofundme for this part of your bucket list, I for one, will give what I can.
