That was wonderful. Thanks for sharing it, Fran!

Dr Andy Hill

Brilliant animation for the time, thank you for helping to preserve if for the future.

RustedDucksDesign

Thanks, friend. Absolutely wonderful and weird.

Jeffrey R. Broido

That was fabulous.

Masterpiece of it's time!

Ymir the Frost Giant

More like his inspiration I suspect!

Awesome. We often forget how the pioneers of film-making used all kinds of inventive methods to make the magic happen.

That was amazingly good stop motion, especially on characters wearing loose clothing. Nothing, absolutely nothing moved in a weird or unnatural way.

Joacim Wennerberg

Thanks Fran! Loved it. 😃

Was this Tim Burton's nightmare?

Amazing CGA -- I mean animation/stop action! That thing the tough-guy in the Andy-cap hat pulled out of the monkey looked like a CD ROM (in 1933)! The facial expressions of the woman listening to the guitar player were really well done, especially the tears that came out of her. Mind boggling to imagine how difficult it must have been to stop-action the band playing. That was a treat, Fran!

Incredible and not only for when it was made. It's not just stop motion either as there's definitely motion blur in many sequences.

Ymir the Frost Giant

Incredible, thanks Fran for you hard work! Such sophisticated animation for such an early period. I don't think I;ve ever seen balloons used like that before - or since. Here's one for you. Nothing to do with Halloween, but another vintage film, recently rendered into full colour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y12G0EOuZcM I think this is the missing evolutionary link between the original Flash Gordon and Star Trek. Strong hints of both can be seen in it. If the style of animation seems familiar, first note the producer's name Roberta Leigh. Now go to one of the episodes of Torchy the Battery Boy in this Youtuber's other vids, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1uvcaCPnqY You'll see the same producer's name, and the director is... Gerry Anderson. Long, long before Thunderbirds!

Disturbing and yet fascinating at the same time. This must have taken hundreds of hours of painstaking work in stop-motion, incredible!
