“Rockfish” is another name for Sea Bass and they are not normally bottom-feeders. I don’t know their preferred food up north, but in the Chesapeake, it used to be menhaden until the catfood makers fished menhaden almost to extinction.

Many thanks for answering that Fran. We still get fairly reasonable fish & chips here, and sometimes we get the option of haddock which is actually nicer than cod. BTW, my friends know me as Munty if that's any easier than Zygmunt (rhymes with "wig". Or indeed "zig"). In fact that's the name whereby I'm getting a tiny bit of You Tube presence of my own, since I'm now DX5's channel moderator for his live streams. He's Spanish and couldn't fathom Lord Muntague so I suggested Munty instead, and the rest is history. If you want to make authentic fish & chips at home, cook them in beef dripping. ;o)

Much as I like science fiction, I agree, FTL travel is impossible. But now I have to pop out to the local chippy and get some fish and chips for tea.
