The Science Of Sound And Hearing (1970)

A very enjoyable 16mm film that I certainly saw in school back in the day. As usual I transferred this film with my own Telecine and used some minor color correction. Enjoy!

This was really awesome! So many of the sounds they claim are hazardous, like the jet airliners of the time, were eventually mandated to not exceed a certain sound level. But even with the newest engines on airliners, many still have to take off from airports at high angles to satisfy noise abatement rules in communities around airports. I remember when leaf blowers were first introduced in the 80s and many cities passed ordinances against them since they were so loud. Lawn mowers seem to sound just as loud as I remember. If they could only see us now with noise cancelling headsets and ear buds jammed right into our ear canals, they'd freak! Another great reminder of my childhood from your awesome film collection!
