A Space Flight (1965)
🕑 Added 2023-01-14 00:15:56 +0000 UTCAnother film from my archive - this reel is dated 1963 in the title but clearly was re-released in 1965 as it also contains footage of Ed White's Gemini 4 spacewalk - but so what... It's for the kids! This film is very typical of the kinds of releases of NASA material that were made for middle schools. The film has lost most all of its cyan but is still a gem of the time. As usual I transferred this reel with my own Telecine and adjusted color to taste. Enjoy!

As I said in comments on the video, it was very common to recycle an older educational films by adding some new footage with a little update dialogue and send it out in syndication for another run.

Wow! I could tell right away that you must have been fighting red discoloring harder than ever! What was left of the blue atmosphere layer around the earth seemed to completely vanish. I wonder if that lost glove is now tracked space junk? Would have been really ironic if that glove hit the space shuttle decades later. No music copyright problems this time!
