Crystal Gazing (1964)
🕑 Added 2023-01-14 20:27:47 +0000 UTCThis 16mm film from the Moody Institute has some beautiful photography of crystals and microscopic crystal formation, and I have kept all that in place and moved all the crazy dialogue to the end if you want to hear it too. As always I transferred this reel with my own Telecine and did major color correction. Enjoy!

I don't think it's out of line to say that I was in love with the Moody Bible Science videos as a young, impressionable nerd. I really loved the electromagnetics ones that seemed to always be playing between 2 and 4AM in Memphis, TN in the late 80s/early 90s. Definitely formative years.

Exactly - the fact that they are just dissolving compounds and looking at the stuff recrystallizing without any real chemical analysis or exploration of molecular geometry etc... It was always the using of science methods to try to prove a predetermined conclusion. Amazing what can be built on this Earth in just a few thousand years. Connect those dots!

I remember being shown Moody Bible Institute films as a child. The religious asides were very much the point.
