But as far as the portable TTY we all carry in our pockets, I think part of the problem is the number of robo, spam, and plain old harassing calls we get I just don't answer any call from a number I don't recognize. I do miss voice conversations though - our brains are wired for that, not SMS.

Ghosting is one of the most disrespectful of human behaviors. Even responding inappropriately is a response. I once *passed* an interview with a large, theoretically respected company, then was ghosted. I went back through the friend who referred me, which got me a brief call "we don't have any positions with your skillset". Um, why interview me in the first place then? Or if someone else was hired for the position why not tell me that?

I'm not a very sociable person, and I avoid conversations. However, if someone opens a conversation, verbal or otherwise, I will always join in or at least reply. I'm like you; I have many mental barriers to conversations, but I will make the effort.
