I have an upper arm one (supposedly more accurate). You're supposed to get them recalibrated annually. It would be interesting to find out how they sense your pulse - in that screened box perhaps ?

I'd have fun with that pump! I'd push 3 volts into it and gradually up the voltage until failure. Yeah, make it go out with a bang!
