Lots of B-7971 or lots of tubes in general?

I'm thinking about using MCP23017 and MPSA44 as driver transistors, or two SN75468 drivers. With Vceo max at 100V they should be perfectly enough. The "bottom lip" could be controlled with a transistor if desired.

Well done Fran!

!!! That what you call a "video multiplex" ? ;-)

Still got one, but only really for ADSL reasons. Won't bother when we go fibre

Who has a landline anymore? π

I've got lots of tubes - several people unloaded their stores to me when I did that original video - and I am working on a version of a universal driver board for these tubes too... but all that is still in the future. This was just for fun.

And I thought Bob Darlington sent his collection, he had like twelve of them - that's something! I got Aprilfooled so nicely. Super cute!

I have 12 (plus a spare in a drawer) mounted, but never built the driver circuits. Someday. I wanted to have the world's first Nixie caller-ID display with the B-7971 tubes, but who has a POTS line anymore?
