A combination of clips, but that last thing is a case project that is still not completed since the pandemic.

Great video! What were you making in the intro?

Thanks Fran! I've been secretly hoping for a woodworking video. Recently started trying wood carving, so my dad just gave me his sharpening stone and oil. I really like your calm and relaxed style of instruction.

Yes you can totally put a plane down on the blade side, on a wooden surface. No worries. For sharpening, I go to the stone and oil only when I have to get around a major nick or when breaking in a new blade. For sharpening between jobs I prefer diamond sharpening blocks, using Windex as a lapping fluid, followed by the strop. Quick and easy.

That was enjoyable, always fun to see how things work... such as the honing guide here. And your workbench is a thing of beauty. Video and sound quality are excellent.

BTW, I did catch an erasor or two, right on the forehead. One was aimed at me, the other at the kid sitting behind me.

Seriously! You had a blackboard? And the teacher was not repremanded for throwing an eraser at you? Sounds like my youth in Belgium, and I am 63 now!

Back in my school days, putting a plane down on its blade meant getting the blackboard eraser thrown at you. Ahhh, happy times!
